Good Day all!-
New to the site- and just a acquired my FIRST pre-loved 2006 M35X.
This past weekend- I replaced the battery in my Intelligent key, because I noticed that I had to be closer and closer to the vehicle to get it to work.
AFTER replacing the battery, and putting the fob back together- it is very temperamental. I have to be within 1 foot of the driver door for the remote to work, and then it's "iffy".
Also, after replacing the battery- the call button on the exterior door handle isn't working at all.
Several times this weekend, I even had to use the mechanical key to unlock the car.

I did read somewhere- that it may be necessary to disconnect the battery of the car and reconnect it for one of the circuits to reset?

What do you think?
I'm lost without the driver door handle call button not working properly.

Thanks all!

welcome to the forum!
Sounds like you only have one key FOB for your M!

What battery did you take out, what did you put in?
Sounds like the new battery may have issues, can you remove it & put a voltmeter to it to see if it is a good battery? What voltage are you getting?
Still have the old battery handy?
Check the voltage on that one also, let's see if it is a battery issue.

You may check your settings to ensure that the call/request button function is enabled.

Hope too that the I-Key is not damaged in any form.

Yes- only one FOB came with the car. Grrrr.
I bought twin pack of 2025 to replace the old battery with. But- you don't know how long those were on the shelf.
I may stop at a real battery store and see if they can check it.
Before I changed the battery- the call button and the remote worked flawlessly.
Thanks all!

I-key is bad. From all indications- this is going to be a huge PITA.
Any suggestions?

I-key is bad...
Somewhat hinted at that in my last line. A new fob is pricey no doubt. But perhaps if you search hard enough you could get a used one. Here are the numbers to look out for: 285E3-EH12A (CWTWBU618) or 285E3-EH100 (CWTWBU735).
Check this:

Needless to say, it would have to be programmed to your car.
