Well, it sat on jack stands from thanksgiving to spring break, so it was never driven during the winter. Screw that salt.phanatikz32 wrote:LOL u never drive that thing!
lucky... but i WAS right about the whole, cali cops being punk bishez and making you pop your hood all the time right? i mean have you ever been asked to pop your hood in any other state? and if so how often?mahchu07 wrote:As far as the CARB laws go, 96softtop is pretty much right.
I moved here when I had my Celica and it had a complete engine swap and custom exhaust. I got pulled over for not having my front plate on the car and the cop asked me to pop my hood, so I asked him if that was necessary much less legal. He took my license and reg. back to his car and made a radio call. He came back a few minutes later and asked me what I was doing in California, I told him I was in the process of moving(truth) and hadn't even had time to put the plate on since it was on a flatbed for the drive here.
Long story less long, he let me go and said if I wasn't registered in Texas my car would have most likely been impounded not just for the mods but he said something about some cars running stolen plates from out of state and let me go.

So, if you are running amber colored bulbs, clear lenses should be ok, right?mahchu07 wrote:I believe you can have clear lenses on your front blinkers as long as they glow amber.
[Edit] I stand corrected by dmv.ca.govTurn Signal Lamps24953. (a) Any turn signal system used to give a signal of intention to turn right or left shall project a flashing white or amber light visible to the front and a flashing red or amber light visible to the rear.Modified by mahchu07 at 5:50 PM 4/16/2007
Well, I wouldn't want to argue. I would hate drilling those holes for something that I got tired of. (no slam intended)phanatikz32 wrote:the spoiler i have in my opinion looks like doodoo butter on the z... when i first got it i liked it but i got tired of it real fast...

if you get an apr dont get the alluminum ones please! they are so ugly they have some ok cabon fiber ones but you dont want it too much longer than 62 inches. by then it litterally begins to become a wing... dont go too fast you might experience lift off!epickakashi wrote:man the spoiler looks nice, i think i might need to get one. but do you know if the APR wings are any good? they have some but they are over 60 inches. yeah it does look a bit narrow but it still looks good.
Well, the vehicle code says that "the turn signal system can project a blinking white or amber light . . ." so even if you have the clear corners you can use the bulbs that glow white. I had to replace my turn signal bulbs and I got some that I thought were the clear ones that burn amber, but they weren't. After I put them in I got to the house and looked it up. You can even download the pdf of the CA vehicle code at dmv.ca.gov I ordered a published copy to keep in my car.96SoftTop wrote:

my spoiler sits 8 inches high and is 54 inches long... height isnt a big issue for me tho alot of people hate high spoilers i dont mind them on the right car so 10 wouldnt bother me too much... the difference between 8 and 10 inches is only slightly noticable youd have to see it up close to tell... but as far as length see if you can find something 62 inches long that should be safe... as far as finding an APR "look alike" dont bother... its just going to be a cheap knock off and it most likely wont even be made of carbon fiber... your not going to find an apr wing for a "reasonable price"... but for $625 ur probably looking at andysautosport.com cuz thats way too much... alot of websites over price their **** so try ordering through a tuner shop or something it might be slightly cheaper... also see what you can find on ebay because not everything is ****... they had some nice TENZO R wings for about 250 last time i checked... they were adjustable 4 to 10 inches and they were 62 inches long . not all ebay products suck but most likely you'll know a sucky product when you see the advertisment and it has pictures of 3d rsx's and the company has a corny name like ultimate street racer club... just look for regular *** ads those are usually the gold minesepickakashi wrote:what would be a good height for the spoiler i have a 2+2 300 and i think its supposed to be wider than a normal Z. the apr one is 10 inches high and 59.5 inches wide but i think its a little too expensive for me its $625.00. do you know anywhere i can get a good carbon fiber spoiler that looks like the apr carbon fiber drift spoilers the GTC-200 adjustable wing? i want a spoiler but i dont want to pay too much. how much did you get yours for? and are the ebay spoilers any good? sorry about all the questions but i am really interested in getting a spoiler for my Z.
