I bought the Z1 new style injector adapter kit for my 1990 300zx. I've replaced all the injectors and i've run into a problem. Once I put the intake plenum back on, the part of the plenum that attaches the throttle cables covers the number 1 injector connector (the thin piece that sits parallel to the throttle cables).

At first I thought I'd simply installed the rail incorrectly, and I proceeded to take everything apart again. Now I see that everything is installed correctly. It seems to be a combination of the slightly larger injector male end and the fuel rail angle. The only way for me to get the connector to fit properly seems to be to loosen the fuel rail so it can lean back a little more. I'm concerned this might be dangerous. I've also considered filling that part of the plenum down with a dremel.

Has anyone else run into this sort of situation? What could be the problem?

I appreciate any suggestions. I can't help but feel I've wasted two hours of my life with this problem.

Did some more searching and found this post:

It seems like dremeling is the way to go, though I'd hoped not to have to do it.
