My second gear can actually get close to 65 miles per hour if I push it to 7,000 RPM with test pipes. The 60 mile/hour numbers in second gear is for between 6200 RPM and 6500RPM with test pipes.

That is strange I thought a gear output is set at the final drive ratio. anyone care to explain ?

I can't see how what Jacko and Tollbooth are saying is possible. There is a defined gear ratio between the wheels and the engine for each given geat.

Power and Torque increase should ONLY affect acceleration and top speed. There shouldn't be any effect on the gear ratio. This should hold especially true for the 6mt where there is no slip.

It's possible to "fling" the car past redline for a given gear. Meaning, if the Jerk is high enough, it might allow acceleration to continue past when the transmission shifts, but if the vehicle before and after the power mod was revved to redline and allowed to maintain a constant speed at redline, then the maximum speed for the given gear should not change.

If power increases only affect acceleration and top speed...wouldn't that increase the TOP SPEED in EACH gear?

added power should create higher speeds in every gear if it changes top speed in ANY gear??

am i missing something??

acceleration is obviously increased in proportion to the increase in power...i guess the question is just whether or not that changes speed.
