yea we'll see what happens

reading that site tho it says that the material wont last long. the thing is tho that the material looks to be exactly the same as my spec. they also show like 3 different stage 5's. maybe they mean for one of those fin type discs. i dont really know. and it only says inspect the disc after so many passes. guess we'll find out in a couple weeks

well i got really scred the other night. the day before a local drift practice i started to beat on the car to see it the clutch was holding. it was slipping pretty bad. so i decided not to go drifting and to skip the drag track yesterday. took it out for a late drive last night and started slipping it and tring to do some burnouts. it was holding fine until i would get into 3rd and 4th. well later i took my foot completely off the clutch pedal and nailed it in 3rd. it held grea to redline.

the problem was that i never adjsut the freeplay on my clutch pedal. there was too much so i had my foot on it far enoguh so the freeplay was gone. that was putting too much pressure on it. i adjusted it today and its holding real good. now i jsut need to get to the track.

I'd guess the reason it is cheaper is because there is less to the manufacture of the disk. no springs, just a solid hub, etc.

either that or maybe it happens to share parts with a popular application.

yea defintily has less materials needed. plus i think cuz there is less of a market for it since not many thinkg a 4 puck unsprung clutch would be nice to drive on. hopefully it doesnt wear out too soon. i should be able to get to the track on tuesday.

feint- if you look up at the clutch pedal you will see the rod that connects it to the master cylinder. you take out the cotter pin and dowl thing. unbolt the master clyinder in the engine bay, the small one with 2 12mm nuts. push the rod back and turn the U-bracket thing to the left i think to move it out and lessen free play.

thanks a lot for the info guys... i have to get a clutch and fly soon for mine, its stock so far.. soon to be boost... hey structure, i adjusted mine by loosening the nut behind the fork which sits on the pedal and just turned the whole rod.... then tightened the 12mm nut...?i hope this doesnt mess up something else.. it hasnt so far coz i have been driving it...... my stock clutch holds fine, just the release bearing is noisy when cold... keep us posted on how the clutch goes...

How stiff is the pedal with the Clutchmasters?

i dont think its that stiff. i didnt notice any change from the spec stage 3. i cant really compare it to a stock 5spd 240 since i've never driven one.

any 5spd car (all stock) i have driven i haven't noticed much difference in stiffness. my engagement is a bit different from having removed the clutch dampner
