just like title says, I've wired up a set of resistors onto my new 550cc injectos and now my car wont start, they are all wired onto the grey wire (positive wire) on all six of them. what do you guys think i've did wrong? started without the resistors but runs VERY crappy, and i've try to correct it with the afc but still not smooth, so I though it would be a injector resistors that need to be inline. let me know what you guys think. thank you for looking

you thought you would need them?

could it be the fact you put 550cc injectors on a stock computer?

do you understand WHY resistor packs are used?

uhhh yeahhh lolz, no can't be the fact that 550cc are on, afc can turn it down, and no do not understand why resistor packs are used on nissan. V8 guy.

first off...what impedence are the resistors?second if the injectors are high impedence then why did you install resistors?third what are you using to control these new injectors?

SAFC does not tune any injectors over 440cc's, same as the others said, what independence are you running? 3rd, send your ecu to Carl H for a tune unless you are going NISTUNE, or some other standalone because the SAFC is not going to cut it, unless you get smaller injectors.

wish i could tune rb25 ecus but they're not much better than for running a stock engine and as door stops.

i dont think ive ever said this in my life

you need to take it to someone who knows what they are doing before you blow it up.

either that, or you really need to do more research. like go back to stock, dont boost, until you can at least explain the difference between high impedance and low impedance injectors and what a resistor pack does.

Please guys, i'm in need of dead help here, i take off the resistors on the positive wire of the injectors and the car will start up, but with it on, it wont, but runs like crap with resistors on, as in idle and rev like it's on 5 cylinder, i'm running the resistors that came with the injectors, 10w 6ohm 8j whatever those numbers mean. wth can be my problem.???? i'm leaning out because i'm making over 400hp. that is why I switched over to 550cc. any help would be great

TAke a multimeter and measure the resistance of the injector and post it up in this thread.

im not going to tell you because im 99% sure you dont even NEED a resistor box at this point. you are doing this wrong and dont understand what you are playing with. i dont know how much clearer i need to be

but you want a f***ing answer? fine.

http://www.hondatuningmagazine....html

p.s. it was already said in this thread. A SAFC WILL NOT CONTROL AN INJECTOR THAT LARGE. YOU NEED A LEGITIMATE ECU TUNE, PIGGYBACK OR STANDALONE.

you are playing with fire, you need to stop before you get burned.

just did it, got 14 ohms, so they are high imp, wth is it doing this then if it's high imp......

^^^^THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH SIR.....now, i KNOW you are saying that safc cannot control 550's, but I've already ran a few sets on my other rb 25 and made over 500whp. how do you expalin that? I still don't understand why it would run like this?

what's weard about this whole thing is that I have to go positive on the afc to even get the car to run???? like 10percent positive, instead of going negative due to larger injectors i have to go positive to make this car when right

why wont it run?you have high impedence injectors and have wired in a resistor pack thats why.remove resistor pack and get a real ecu tuning tool.

Okay so remove all the resistors since you have high impedance already you don't want those resistors in there.

Next post up your SAFC vehicle settings like the IN and OUT numbers.

Bro seriously. Not trying to be a Dic KBut you need to take this car to whoever tuned your other 500hp RB25's.Because whatever they did, they didn't do with a SAFC.

Your gonna blow your motor if you keep d!ck'n around with it.

Read upThe SEARCH button is your FriendFAQ even better.

Couple o' Questions alsoDo you have a wideband? What turbo are you runing? If your running 400hp right now, I would make sure that you still have good compression in all your cyl's if your car is runing funny.

i give up. enjoy your blown motor.

an safc might work on a toyota as their efi is as advanced as an abacus but not on a nissan which had efi that was not rivaled until obd2 rolled around.

in out 1,1. sensor setting 4 Hw just like the book states. ran perfectly fine before. all I did was an injectors switchover....no cel also. i'm sure it's something so dumb I miss looked and all these guys are being MR I'm too good for afc and I have over 1000 post makes me a tech pro at Nissan's...grow up.

I simply don't know why you guys hate afc so much, i've made many MANY cars with over 400hp on afc...dog on it all you want, but it's a great tool for what it is. and I've just changed the plugs a hour ago, compression is still a good 170psi across. resistors are taken out too already

because i like my ringlands on my pistons and not in my oil pan.the safc is a bandaid and i'll assume that you come from toyta heritage which is fine but realize that nissan ecus are lightyears more advanced than the toy stuff is...messing with the maf signal means you're also messing with the timing as well where on toyotas the timing is independent of fuel.

Your the guy from Vangs Performance Dyno right?

Im going to tell you probably the 5th time you'll read this. I dont care how much horsepower you make on an SAFC. If you have even the slightest idea of how these devices operate you can understand why its a piece of garbage for these engines or most engines alone that require REAL EXTENSIVE tuning.

The basics of an SAFC is just taking the Out put from the ECU's MAF and modifies the K constant value to advance or retard the s*** out of timing.

You're not directly modifying your injectors and you're only modifying another value of the MAF to manipulate a s***ty inaccurate cell of your fuel maps.

SAFC = manipulation ( General way to wreak havoc on your timing maps ) Rom tune/chip = modification ( General way to finely tune every aspect of the engine )

Safc is also not reliable horsepower. I've tuning RB's and SR's with and SAFC and Nistune. At the same power outputs of around 400 rwhp the difference in how the car produces the power is night and day.

Acceleration is choppy and laggy with the SAFC and the completely the opposite in a real tuned ECU. Power comes on very quickly and linear, it feels great.

Do yourself a favor, throw the SAFC in the trash, or like carl said use it in a Toyota or something that utilizes a different style of engineered efi.

Dont try to take this as me insulting your intelligence i am trying to help a fellow Okie out!

I have a SAFC, but i know well enough that its not going do me any good pass 440cc injectors. It would be wise to listen to these guys................. they have been around before RB's had mount kits! When your really, really, really had to do research! When John Powell was around. And thats a while ago. You young wipper snappers have it so easy these days with information on these motors its not funny. Hell when i was researching and i would go to google "RB20 swap in 240" i use to get a response of " what the f****, no such thing" Ok done with the blabbering, were so hard on you because of what the hell we had to go thru with researching these motors and stickie'ing information, and for you to take all this personal is uneccssary. Just do more research man, or blow your motor, which ever you choose

I dont think you have sir, because if this is your second, third, or fourth rb 25 then you would know that you dont put resistors on high imp injectors because they come with high imp injectors
