Do I need to a resistor on 370cc injectors from a CA18t when I install them on my KA24 E?

i believe they are high impedence but you can easly check with a multimeter. i just used some 88 mazda rx-7 460cc high impedence injectors. they fit nice and tight in the fuel rail.

what is considered "high" impedence and what is "low" if I check them, and what are stockers.

High is ~11 (or so) ohms...stockers should be 11-12 ohms.

CA injectors are low impedence.CA18DET and RB26 = low

KA-E, KA-DE, RB20/25, SR20, VG30DETT are all high impedence...

Thats the info I came up with from searching the net.

I wouldnt bet my life on its accuracy, but I wouldnt post unless its something I believe to be true. Check your sources. The only low impedence injectors Ive heard of are the CA and RB26 top feeds...

i also know that the z32 370s fit the ka24de, so they must be low impeadance also

*edit* - i checked the fsm, 96 ka24de injectors are suppost to have 10-14 ohms of resistance. They are not low impeadance.

buy these and send them in to get cleaned and flow tested.

Okay I checked the injectors.

Stock KA24E 2.7 ohms

CA18DET 14.1 OHMS

So my next question is do I just need to put a resistor, diode, anything in line?

Thanks

I must have been sniffing the gas

Stock KA24E 14.1 ohms

CA18DET 2.7 ohms

i think thats wrong. the stock kae injectors are high impedence. correct me if i am wrong but i have never heard of low inpedence kae injectors.

IGNORE ALL THE "I THINK" COMMENTS AT THE TOP OF THE THREAD.

KA 270cc injectors are HIGH IMPEDENCE.

SR 370cc injectors are HIGH IMPEDENCE.

...

"Lem" - remeasure your KA-E injectors...they should be high impedence.

14.1 is high right and 2.7 is low

Should I just put a 11 ohm resistor in line with the power or with the ground?

Just read today that GTiR SR20's use top feed low impedence injectors. I think theyre 440cc...

Lem, I really dont know how to wire in the resistors. I assume they would go on the 12v side.

1996 240sx ka24de, injector resistance per FSM page EC-298, is suppost to be 10-14 ohms at 77 degrees farenheight. This puts the de injectors in the high impeadance bracket

low impeadance injectors measure 1.7-3.0 ohms, high injectors measure 10-16 ohms.

Please get your facts straight before posting that as fact...I'm not tryig to be an A55, just trying to keep the info reliable and correct.

It's common knowledge that you can drop SR injectors into a KA rail and use an S-AFC to tune...no resistors needed.

If they were low impedence and you used them on a stock ECU with an AFC...it would kill the injector drivers and the car would not run. That does not happen.

As I posted above...they ARE both high impedence, I'm 100% sure...I'd bet my life on it.

My original question had nothing to do with SR or DE injectors. Here are the facts.

Ca18det injectors 2.7 ohmsKA24E injectors 14.1 ohms

Does anyone know how I would wire the resistors and what resistance to use?

Thanks- Josh

Yeah, sorry that got off topic a little...

Anyway, a common solution is to pull a resistor block off old Preludes (IIRC)...search the web for it, you'll find how-to's and such.

Here is what a search came up withhttp://www.acceleronics.com/versafueler.htm

For 395 dollrs I could get a new set of bigger high Z injectors. Iguess I should have researched this before buying injectors, but I swear I read a post about CA injectors working on the E.
