re the tofu. Go with tempeh instead. Tofu is filled with phytoestrogens and other bad stuff that the fermentation process takes out. Natto anyone?

i got my DVDs over a year ago. my friends and i started a small fanbase at my school, and then it went mainstream. we've always been anime fans, but the cool ones. the ones who go to anime conventions and laugh at people who get so into it, they think the stuff is real. im really into gundam X, FSS, Guyver, Patlabor, Macross, Getter Robo, Marian battle Succesor Nadesco, old 80s stuff, some newer stuff. hell. lots of stuff.

I dont get the hating on the kenshin dub. It was acurate the only thing I saw that was really different was kenshin didn't sound like a woman as much and didn't say oro. Maybe its just me. I like dubs, good dubs not stupid crap that totally rewrites a story.

lol, I can understand people prefering the sub, but to hate on a dub without just cause is a sad thing. Some of the american actors are really talented and can convey the character just as well as the japanese. My real issue with the Japanese dub is How do you now if it is good or not? I mean unless you now japanese and their dialects how do you know it is dubbed well in japanese. lol just a thought.

I wanna watch Macross Plus again something fierce.

Kenshin was really good but started to become lacking after the Kyoto Saga:( It never really had a good ending either, there were some ova's that took place 15 years later, but those are said to be crap.

i saw Macross plus a LONG time ago. man did it kick ***! anyone see She the Ultimate Weapon. its a new one, but its pretty damn good. And who could forget Escaflowne, the orig, not the gay dubbed version. yes, this is one of those cases where the dubbed version sucked some major ***. i'll agree, i've seen a few dubbed movies with good dubbing, but not many.

oh man. macross plus was so great. i have all the soundtracks.

i watched the robotech series back when they had it on cartoon network when i was in highschool. they showed all the episodes up till the Southern Cross saga.

i think i watched up to episode 22 or so of Kenshin.

trigun is hysterical, i wish i had money to get the set.

vampire hunter D bloodlust was pretty.

blah blah blah

krazy skewrel:i know what you mean, there are some good dubs, i always thought the tenchi muyo dubbing was hysterical. i'm just kind of wary of dubbing because of the prev mentioned reasons: story editing/quality of the voices and a change in dialogue. i heard that I-D (the usdm released dvd's) takumi and the gang talk all stupid/ and things are left out... i have to check it out i guess to confirm my suspicions.

good god, you need to watch Kenshin up to like 65 or so, or all of it really, it just starts to dwindle down after Kyoto, that was just so hard to top...

I like Plus because the computer generated art in it was just so seamless and it was a really awesome looking movie, and it had a simple cute love story:D

Plus has some damn good animation. the city fight/dog fight scene was freakin' cool. my cousin made a music video using clips from it to Helter Skelter. and sky, i love the soundtrack. i have a few songs, uh, i found, hehehe, on my PC. very good stuff.

I also remember Technoman, it actually had a pretty good following in japan. very good show.

southern cross was ok, but the invid invasion was better stuff. anyone seen macross 2. it wasnt too great, but the veritechs were awesome. and does anyone else thing X and blood the last vampire sucked? the movies were so short and dull. I heard from a friend that the TV series for X told a LOT more. and, has anyone else heard of The Five Star Stories?

oah and back to I-D for a minute...

Now i'm really opening up so don't laugh (too mutch)

I actuially shed a tear when Takumi Blew up the 86 racing the EVO III. That WHOLE scene was really impressive to me. All the way to bunta telling takumi it wasn't his fault and everything...

I buy a lot of anime, then My friends buy a lot. So I atch a lot of stuff that way. I buy domestic releases mostly as I try and support the indusry. Unless they are real bastards like they were with FLCL. 2 eps a disk for a 6 episode series. Hells no.

the thing with X/1999, though i've never watched it, is that you have to have watched the tv series or have read the manga. if you haven't. it makes no sense. X wasn't a movie like Macross Plus, where you didn't have to know about the references they were making by showing the SD-F 1 and other things to enjoy the movie.

i know i need to watch more Kenshin. *and* Macross. Seth, i do have Macross 2, wasn't so great story-wise, but the mecha was freakin awesome. woo woo.

the problem with X was actually that it came out before the manga or series was even finished, why they did this I don't know
