First, although it is not in the public posting, the e-mail I received included three paragraphs not published online. The most offensive was "Do you really expect the people here to be sympathetic with your poor use of spell check and your obvious lies

. Absolutely nothing I have said in this, or any other forum was a lie. I am a graduate of MIT class of '69 and was a Mensa member when I was there. I happen to think that calling people idiots or liars is neither conducive to rational, logical discussion, nor does it show any respect for the other party to the discussion. In fact, it is usually the role of the moderator to make sure these kinds of personal attacks are kept out of the discussion. The mere fact that you did not publish these remarks but, nevertheless, saw that they were included in the e-mail is no excuse for slanderous remarks.
Also not included online "Don't try to BS us...." Not a word of my description of what has happened is BS. Nor are any of my postings an attempt to garner sympathy. I don't need sympathy and haven't asked for any.
Now my vehicle has always been serviced at the dealership where I bought the car. And I took it there to try to get warranty service both for the Bluetooth problem and for the Condenser issue.
It is true that the warranty says rock chips are not included. But, unless you are a lawyer or suspicious, most people don't even see the warranty booklet until they get the car. I guess you'd say if they missed that part it's their own fault. But that's why Bank's are required to have disclosure statements before selling a mortgage, why sellers of homes have to disclose any defects they know of before the sale, and why some companies are sued for false advertising. See if any dealer tells you that stone damage, even to the radiator and condenser, are not covered when they sell you the car. But everybody does it, you might say. Well perhaps you should go to the Acura web site and you'll find their warranty here:
http://owners.acura.com/Warranty/Warranty.aspx
Tell me if you find anything about stone chips in their warranty. Take as long as you like.
As for the phone connectivity I have an ATT8525 which was not, at first, on Nissan's list of compatible phones but, even after it was added to the list there were still problems. I know Nissan's explanation for what happened but the fact is my phone had been working and, on the way back from Ashland, Oregon it stopped working and nothing on the console worked. The Blower speed could not be changed, the temperature could not be changed, the radio station could not be changed. This happens when manufacturer asks for a chip designed to control everything. One chip saves them money. It also creates a single point of failure that can be catastrophic.
Let's get this straight I phoned two of the Directors of the Bluetooth Organization about this problem. One in England. They agreed that there was nothing wrong with my ATT8525, it had been certified and tested by their organization. They also agreed the car manufacturers who create lists of phone their cars will work with are violating the trademark agreement. You can see these agreements at their web site.
Going back to Acura, I never had this particular problem with their car, but I also never had any trouble getting warranty coverage from them and you can tell from the way they write their warranty that they aren't looking for loopholes. Only those who manufacture cars that need this type of legal protection write it into their contracts. Evidently Nissan is one of those.
