YAY 5 Guys!

I went to LA recently and had a In-N-Out double animal style and it was delicious. Too messy for my taste, but I didn't care. I didn't think it was worth all the hype but apparently Zagat feels that same...

Yeah but you can get it animal style at IN-N-OUT.

I don't like 5 guys and live no where near an INOB. I like hardee's Burgers just as much as 5 guys.

I only ate at in-and-out once and that was enough to last me my entire lifetime.

Do not want

Want a great chain burger? Red Robin. Want a great fast food burger? No such animal.

Z-Burger in DC is pretty good.

Five Guys is inconsistent, varies enormously by location. You probably haven't had it right unless you've had it in Alexandria, VA or Georgetown. The suburban MD locations are decidedly subpar, aside from those bomb-a55 hot dogs.

meh, 5 guys is way too much for what you get.

Fat Mo's is the burger joint in Nashville area.
I don't mind Red Robin though...they offer a huge variety of weird stuff.

anything with chilli on it is win.

InO is more California feel-superior propaganda. It's not terrific, not bad, and the fries are good, but certainly more California propaganda.

There is definitely more hype than delivery with In and Out. My parents live in Cali and I grew up on the west coast and it's certainly nothing super special or anything. I laughed heartily when they opened one up where my Uncle lives and there were massive traffic jams caused by ridiculous people lined up for blocks away just to get a hamburger. Safeway was right across the street, but instead of grilling a superior burger on their own, they'd rather wait 2+ hrs to get a fast food greaseball.

Give me a Panera (Or STL Bread Co) Chicken Caesar Sandwich and I'm fine.

I've never had in-n-out burger. I'd like to. Five guys is good, but I hate McD's potato/bread/cellulose french fries. I love Checker's fries. totally awesome. I don't eat burgers unless they're homemade, and Wendy's fries are always undercooked at every location I've been to. North VA and Honduras.

Maybe the one I ate at was a poor example of the chain, but the main reason I hated my visit there was the fries. Soggy, limp and colorless, like they'd been steamed instead of deep fried.

Kind of off the burger topic but how did Starbucks coffee beat Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds (I'm assuming we're talking about regular coffee, not like the blended, sugary coffee drinks)? I would take a cup of coffee from Dunkin Donuts or McDonalds any day of Starbucks coffee.

Have you ever tried a plain cup of coffee from Starbucks?

DISCLAIMER: I've lived out in so-cal my whole life and sick of everyone bashing anything to do with it as propaganda. Chances are you're ignorant and just jealous of our amazing weather, so stop being a b****.

I like In-N-Out in moderation. I get it either protein style(no bun due to diet) or animal style with animal style well done fries(cheese, grilled onions and extra spread[sauce]). The greatest fast food burger was obviously omitted from this survey, Tommy's. I think the first thing I ate out of the womb was a Tommy's Double Chili Cheese Burger. It actually looks just like the pic below. They use these huge beefsteak tomatoes that are pure awesomeness. This isn't something I eat often but when I've got friends from out of town we always hit it up. Everyone I've exposed Tommy's to has been blown away.

Image

The original Tommy's was where I started. When I was a kid it was nothing but this shack that you could only walk up to. There weren't any seats just this big long counter that everyone ate at. I go back to that location every once in a while and it's just as awesome as it was back in the day.

Too bad Culver's isn't a national chain, and I'm a fairly big fan of Hardees/Carl's Jr too. I'd rank either of those over anything on that list (except 5-guys because I have never tried their food).

They just opened up a Five Guys in my town. The only one I've tried was in the Dulles Airport(DC) and it was okay. I remember it being almost too much meat. It replaced a Fudruckers which was supposed to be incredible but I thought was lack luster.

I like Culver's a lot. Then again, I probably don't eat fast food often enough to have a meaningful opinion.

Nobody is jealous of California, its asinine vehicle inspections, it's moron Govener, it's shaka bra surfer d-bags, it's bigger d-bag valley girls and it's gimped cars that vehicle manufacturers produce for the state. If my folks didn't live there, I would avoid it like the plague.
