He posted what I believe are facts. Hell the pics speak for themselves, as you said if they ARE from Marc, and Ivan even put up a Paypal payment to prove that. That I don't believe to be bashing. The question was asked, Ivan answered as a true enthusiast. Marc counter responded, with what seems to be a bit of stretching the truth on his part (just my opinion).

Good for Ivan, good for Marc. No hits below the belt, continue...

I believe mods should stay neutral here. Its important to take conotation into consideration here. That comment could be misconstrued as arguementative. Or encouraging this petty pissing contest.

It shouldnt be a matter of having to prove himself to another vendor. He should only be concerned with proving himself to customers---and responding to a thread such as this is not the way to do it. As I've said before--this is an issue that should be sorted out with the customers who are dissatisfied---in private--- with their products, and not with the vendor who made the thread in hopes to voice opinions about products that arent his. I have said already that I believe this thread is weak, and in poor taste. Both vendors/manufacturers and capable, profesional individuals. Thats the manner they should conduct themselves, and this thread is not in that manner as it is encouraging other members to voice their opinions when it is not contributing anything of value.

Put simply:

I dont believe in encouraging a pissing contest between 2 vendors--or members for that matter. I would expect a bit more from a moderator.

Ill still follow the thread as long as it is open, though. I am interested to see how the two vendors conduct themselves further. It will help me decide who to possibly deal with/do business with in the future.

I doubt we'll see Marc visiting too often, he has another job in addition to running IAP and seems to stay pretty busy, I also know he doesn't get on forums too much as most of his business is mostly word of mouth or people that happen across his site from a google search. I'll keep recommending people to buy from him because I've had nothing but great luck and fantastic customer service. The poor guy has had to help me with non-IAP related car issues several times and has done so without a hint of irritation. I think he's a really good guy who has a really good shot at making a bit impact in our little 240 world. As for Ivan, I think he has good intentions and a lot of experience, I've spoken with him as well now and he too seems like a good guy overall. I hope that everyone can just get past this and look to future IAP AND Sound Performance products as being quality merchandise.

I agree with Nathan and Projex here -

Additionally, both gentlemen have been invited to "officially" come aboard as NICO sponsors. We'll see who grabs the opportunity, as we stand to benefit enormously from their expertise.

I've advised them both that hawking products, directly or indirectly, without contributing to the continued existence of NICO, is generally frowned upon.

Since I'll probably be doing a little KA buildup in the near future, I'm eager to see who steps up to the plate. :)

bingo...

and responding to a thread such as this is not the way to do it.

but i disagree...

this thread has been viewed over 1400 times. how many potential customers are in those 1400+ views? while neither one of the companies here are sponsors, they still have recieved exposure. every company gets exposure through the internet and sooner or later companies should step up to the plate and make themselves accessible on forums like this.

the thing i'm disappointed about is that this is not the first time that IAP has been questioned about their kit, and this is not the first time they have responded (imo) inadequately. this thread could have disappeared as soon as the accusations had started, but because of the hundreds of views it had already had, I saw fit to leave it open so that IAP could respond. this thread also could have ended if IAP (instead of screaming liar liar) had just posted pics of their piping.

I've said before--this is an issue that should be sorted out with the customers who are dissatisfied---in private--- with their products, and not with the vendor who made the thread in hopes to voice opinions about products that arent his.

this thread was started in july of last year by a member, not a vendor.

I dont believe in encouraging a pissing contest between 2 vendors--or members for that matter. I would expect a bit more from a moderator.

i'm not encouraging anything. if anything, i responded the way i did because i see this situation ending the same way a previous one did...with nothing solved.

While Dem' makes some valid points, I think that its important to realize that what I said earlier "I doubt we'll see Marc visiting too often, he has another job in addition to running IAP and seems to stay pretty busy, I also know he doesn't get on forums too much as most of his business is mostly word of mouth or people that happen across his site from a google search." is the gospel truth. Sure he likes to maintain a favorable image on forums, but he has plenty of satisfied customers willing to speak up about their favorable experiences. I dont know a single retailer out there that hasn't gotten some kind of negative press from somewhere, its just a fact of doing business.

Nathan, you seem to know Mark fairly well. Why don't you email him about the thread being open again. I agree with Demetrius 100% on this one. Both guys are benefitting from any post on any forum. Thus are hurt by any mud slinging that takes place. Which is why I have not posted in this thread, since I will soon be selling my own kits and don't want to appear biased.

It comes down to one thing really, put up or shut up. I know how Mark feels being busy, I'm trying to design a turbo kit while being active duty USAF and still having to deal with deployments. Yet I still find time to keep an eye on things here.

Yeah, I'm going to call him sometime this weekend probably just to let him know how well my car is doing finally. I'll be sure to mention the thread when I do ;)

Cool, thanks man. I'd hate to not have him represented. He seems lie a great guy and customer service is my second biggest pet peave next to ontime shipping.
