i wanna upgrade my brakes to the z32 but my question is what do i need to do or have to be able to have that kind of upgrade?of course i need the calipers and rotors, but do i need the master cylinder from the z32? do i need its brake lines? i heard i cud machine shop the 5 lug rotors and make a whole so it can fit my 4 lug 240? is it a gud idea?is there anything from my 240 brake system that can be used with the z32 upgrade? or does everything have to be swapped?

i'd appreciate some help.

You can Use the Search Button on the TOP of the website:That Flashing "Search" in red. Click on it, and type Z32 brakes.

But since I am bored and I've done the Entire Brake swap::::

You'll need:

1. TOOLS: All the SOCKETS From 10 to 36 mm

2. A harmonic/wheel pulley You can Borrow it.From Autozone,

3. SOme LUBE (no not that kind) THe car grease kind.

NOTE: I am giving you all you need to do a TOTALLY complete z32 brake upgrade.

Caliper Choices: The 300zx came with 3 Different options of Calipers.

26mm Aluminium. 30mm Cast Iron. and 30mm AluminiumAll these are Generally the same~ I honestly don't mind having any.BUT I used the 26mm due to the weight. I believe they came only in the First series of the Z32. (1990)

THE BEST WAY TO DO IT:

1. Front Ichiba 5 lug HUBS. OR S14 SE hubs. $250 ish2. Front Russels/ PDM Stainless steel Lines $60-70 ish~3. 300zx Rotors : OEM or Brembo or Whatever~ $70-100 ish~4. Brake pads x2: Hawks, OEM, Project Mu, ENDLESS~ $50-200(you don't really need the (M.B.C.) Master Brake Cylinder if you're doing just the FRONT)

(you use YOUR oem caliper BOLTS to bolt on the 300zx's calipers)

Take OFF your Brake DUST SHIELD. (I Trimmed off the edges on mine)

REAR:

1. 300zx Rear 5 lug HUBS2. 300zx Rear Ebrake Assembly3. 300zx Ebrake cable (which you'll probably have to cut)4. Rear Calipers5. Rear Rotors6. Brake pads

00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000In my opinion:

Master Brake Cylinder should be upgraded when you do the Front and Rear Conversion~

1. Get a 300zx 1 1/16 valved. M.B.C.2. Get out the flared fitting from you 240sx MBC3. Put that Flared fitting in the 300zx MBC.

Hook it up. Bleed, enjoy.

Also, heavy throttle sells brembo blanks already drilled for 4x114 bolt pattern at no extra cost.

If you can swing it, get a MC for a non-abs Z and you'll have the center flare seat already in the master cylinder. If the car is ABS, then you have to slice up the old S13 MC to get the seat out.

And if you don't mind not having the best of the best MC, get the 1" valved Z MC, as I believe they all had the center seat.

Again, please please please please search. This topic is so overdiscussed, it's not even funny anymore.
