Ive heard of a few turbo VG30's, and a few other common swaps are the ca18det and sr20det. They all fit without to much work.

The Red civic where he spun the 86 out. Then Takumi got pissed and returned the favor. I think.

S12 200sx availible with:VG30ECA18ETCA20E (the 8 spark plug wonder turd)

The s12 silvia had the FJ20ET (dual over head cam, before they started using the "D" designation) over-seas.

And yes a CA18DET will look very at home inside a S12 engine bay.

Here is a sweet FJ20ET:

The FJ20ET were very rare to find in the S12 in Japan. The FJ20s were mostly found in the techamen(sp?) skylines.

Well yeah the engine was designed for skylines, but it was adapted to fit S110 and S12 silvias.

Sentra and 200SX are completely different nissan models, there was a sport package 200SX that came out and it was pretty nice indeed, the usual body kit, etc. They also came out with digital dash and HUD before the S13 did, Im surprised that we dont see any S12's on the drifting scene, with the right engine mod and body kit I think will be kool.....

which of the 3 civic battles? The last 2 were decent. The s14 was kinda crappy i think, but the rain did give it an extra spice...

Btw, i see some s11's sometimes around here...

Never seen a S11 either. I liked the one with the S14 because, well it was a S14, the music wasnt bad, and the rain did make it different. just not very action packed. I gusse i like the first one with the Rx-7.

Well a na 86 cant outrun most of the cars that it does but still i like the S14 one the best. Yeah, i post on club240 once in a while even though its kinda slow and, well, i think i saw a spider web forming in the search button there.

not true w/ the turbo VG thing. the VG30ET's crossover pipe doesn't clear the firewall. I've heard tons of stories of people "working on the problem" but have yet to see one. Most people go CA18DET, modify the CA18ET, or occasionally drop in an SR.

I am so going to get flamed for this, but in my opinion the S12 was almost the ugliest Nissan ever produced. Only that 5 door Stanza tall wagon and the Axxess mini-minivan are worse.

Having said that mechanically and performance wise it is a fine car, just the styling leaves alot to be improved on.

i'm w/him...the s12 and the ae86 are ugly cars. Yet their appeal comes from their perfomance capabilities, which then make you like them aesthetically.

Yes, I do think the 86 is ugly. I was considering trying to find an 86 as opposed to the S13. It's what I told mom while looking for cars: "It's uglier than sin, but it's a hell of a sports car".

In the end I got the S13 because finding an 86 is near impossible, and the "86 substitute" (AW11 MR2) didn't float my boat. And I feel that the Nissan of a somewhat better overall quality than the AE86 or the AW11.

Wow, I really like the hatches! And turbo/RWD/SUPER cheap too. Not easy to find at all though, although there is a beige turbo hatch about 150 miles from me for like $750.

These things are hella cool, one site had a whole bunch of S12s in Japan all decked out with Watanabes and such. I'll be on an S12 kick all day now.

I used to drive my sisters 200sx a long time ago. Unfortuneatly while I was away at college, my parents sold it. I didnt like the styling at first, but it really grew on me. Fun little car, handled really well. Very nice interior for the time. If I could get my hands on a rust free s12 with a bad motor for dirt cheap, I'd buy it and put a ca18det in without wasting any time thinking about it. Would be awesome as a sleeper. BTW the ones with the vg30e were sold from 87-88 and had 5 lug wheels. The z32 brakes will fit on those.

Johnson City TN? I used to live up the road from there in Bristol VA. I'm glad I don't live there anymore. My parents still live there so I do go visit from time to time.

It's actually bigger than the SR20, and there were two versions of the FJ available also.FJ20ETFJ24E

Both are extremely tall engines that probably couldnt fit under the hood of a s13 without moding the hood for clearance.Yeah its definately cramed in, but not small at all.
