Nissan transmissions are a mixed bag. Inherently, they're very durable, but most of them are inadequately cooled or poorly maintained. A lot of people treat them like American cars, leaving the fluid and filter untouched for 100k.

The Lexus LS guys are mating GM Hydramatics to their turbo V8s.

Jeff, I'm running Redline in my transmission as well since I got a case of it free ($9 a qt. x 12, do the math!). My trans shifts as I said above, like a CVT, you don't feel shifts at all, besides the 1-2 shift when it's still cold.

Here you go,

A black one with less than 75k miles.

A Cali one at that without all that rust!

Too bad it was repainted, wonder if they painted under hood too?

I'll sell mine for 18k if someone is interested. Not that I want to sell it, but for the right price I will.

Thanks guys, i emailed that guy with the one in NY. I sold my car this weekend, so now im going hunting. Right now there is an immaculate 99 white one in GA. But ill give it a week or so for me to find a black one.

Quick question: Within the years they mae the Q45, did they do a subtle style change in the years? It just seems like 97-00 look slightly different from the 01+. Thanks

Changes were made in 1999, and in 2000 it regained the analog clock.

The only visual cues on the outside is they deleted the tail lights on the trunk, and only have the reverse lights there now, & the tail lights also replaced the crystal clear center with amber. Lower body trim is color matched from 99+ also, and like Jesda said, the analog clock (big deal, that I care less about). The back seat gained movable headrests and rear power sunshade option came out. Other than that, it's identical.

Ebay and the local newspapers give you only a small fraction of what's on the market...
