First thing I would do is remove all your grounds, including the main coming from the battery that goes down under the battery tray and then to the intake manifold.
Use a dremel and clean ALL of them up, Both the terminal AND the contact surface.
Then get some copper based anti seize and apply a thin layer to both surfaces.
Re-assemble everything.
I have had this fix MULTIPLE electrical problems on MULTIPLE different cars.
My last 2 examples were my own personal cars. The ground on my S13 was getting weak and causing the battery to over work trying to crank the car over in the cold. Replaced the negative battery cable and cleaned everything up and the car cranks like a champ now.
The time before that was on my S14, just a month ago when it was throwing a code for the knock sensor. The car sat for a while before I bought it, so I cleaned up all of the grounds. The code never came back, the idle improved, and the car starts faster now as well.
But in answer to your question, yes, I'm about 80% sure the Q45 ignitor works just fine. I haven't done it myself, but I'm sure that I've heard other people do it.
