That is good news about the warranty issue. Now if only Nissan would offer the GT-R here with a 6 speed manual, I'd buy one of them instead of a Z06...

Dude did you just buy it? You know I can give VPP codes right?
If you give me your VIN, I can tell you everything that went wrong with it in the plant ;)

Yeah, just bought it. And did not know you were able to toss out VPP codes. I'm assuming you're referring to VPP for extended family/friends? Do you still get the incentives with those?

Also, I may be interested in knowing what went wrong in the plant. At the same time, that seems like information one wouldn't want to have...

Yes, yes, and yes.

The info is good if its something paint related. I guess you just make sure you keep good wax in that area all the time and don't go buffing it so much haha.

In my current state, I'd probably only be able to afford an S13 or an NA Miata.

if I had mad dough, I'd be riding around in a Nismo edition Z34. Or maybe a Vantage. Dunno. Depends on what kind of mood I'm in.

Is that friends VPP code good for less than invoice?

And as far as the paint goes, it kinda sucks on this truck. I doubt there's more than about 10 mils of clear coat anywhere on the truck...

Yes, less than invoice, plus additional incentives.

The clear is definitely less than 10 mils. Hell, its less than 1 mil. Did you get the 4-door?

If I had the money, a 70-72 Chevelle SS with a 396 or 454 is my dream... Other wise I think when the wife tires of her 07 fusion in a few years I want to trade it for a newer model Nissan Maxima.

I plan on doing one of two options when I either:

A.) Give whichever one of my sons the GT-R

B.) Sell the GT-R

Option 1.
Buy an old S30 in decent mechanical shape. Fix what needs to be fixed and then dump an RB26DETT into it. (Yes, it would become a RWD RB26.

Option 2.
Buy a CG10 Hakosuka Skyline 200GT in decent mechanical shape. Fix what needs to be fixed and dump an RB26DETT into it.

Notice the pattern? LOL.

After doing some reading, I think I will add a CTS-V Coupe to the list of potentials down the road. That car is SO SICK.

If it were me which it will be next year

For the wife
08-09 E63 Grey/Silver
Mercedes Benz of Westminster has a 08 with 30k miles on it for 50k

For me
GT-R or 911 Turbo vert
There is an awd turbo, vert 911 on ebay for 69k with 18k miles on it

For you...

If you want 2 seats Porsche Cayman
If you want 4 seats, CTS-V, CLS500/550/600, E63 there are 06 BMW M5's going for 40k that is a steal!

Mercedes hotrods are crude. Lots of power with no refinement or improvement anywhere else. Their chassis are still luxury chassis and were never meant for performance. It's the German equivalent of 60s musclecars, except that it's 2011. AMG looks neat, sounds neat, and has lots of power, but look just about anywhere else if you want an all-around performer. With BMW or Cadillac you get actual performance cars with lots of power under the hood. With AMG that's not the case. The C class is a pile regardless of whether it's got a 4 or a 12 under the hood. The E-class is mediocre and meh regardless of cylinder count. And the S-class is a fat waste of body roll whose home is valet parking garages and not the track.

I love musclecars as much as the next guy, but if I'm going to own a crude monstrosity with lots of power and not much else, I'll look to late-60s GM or Ford, not modern Mercedes.

What about modern muscle? I happen to think a Camaro SS is a really good bang for the buck at $32,000(ish). New Mustang GT and Challenger SRT8 392 are sick too.

Then you have the upcoming brutes in the Camaro ZL1 and the Mustang GT500 Super Snake (850ish HP from the factory... WUT.)

The latter two would be entertainable options if you're looking into any car in the AMG line.

The only thing I don't like about the E63 as a car for my wife is the undefeatable e-nannies.... I think the Renntech computer reprogram takes care of them though.

I love the looks of the new camaro I can not comfortably drive one (too tall) My kids would not fit in the back seat (too many too tall) and it is a slow POS next to the new Mustang GT or BOSS.

The Mustang is awesome! If I stuffed my G the insurance check would be down on a BOSS Mustang or a E63 Wagon. Then buy back the G from insurance and put the sheet metal from a 1970-73 240z around it creating the Infini-Z :naughty:
