I just read through this whole thing. It was hilarious. I had some fun with Kevin on a post I made (http://forums.g35club.org/zerothread?id=402966)but we kept it PG.

American car quality does suffer when compared to Japanese cars.American cars are not made to last. They are designed to be desposable.A maximum five year useful life expectancy.

Having said that there were still some American made cars that I would like to own (NEW).I would never buy another used American made car.

Umm, it depends.

If we're talking about Nissans like the Versa and entry-level Toyotas like the Yaris, they're all throwaway garbage. Lets not forget Mitsubishi, Daihatsu, and others. The new Corolla is terrible.

I'm enjoying 165,000 miles on my Cadillac at seventeen years of age. No major work, lots of neglect and abuse at the hands of New Yorkers, my brother, and severe climates. Its still quiet, comfortable (could use a new seat though), powerful, and smooth. Its the most everyday luxury I've ever enjoyed for the money, and its been to every corner of the country without fault. Several years in NYC, unfortunately, have resulted in dents and damage to the bumper covers.

I've had far more reliable and much cheaper operation from American cars and trucks, but I've experienced more refinement and attention to detail from the Japanese.

Korea is slowly kicking Japan's complacent behind.

Rather have a old american car then a new one. Seems Plastic and Fake leather is the way of the future from them and everyones right Lack of Quality isnt the half of it if you see items used in low end cars like hondas are somehow the same type of material in mid sized american cars. pretty sad rather go Jap or german any day.

japan is making some retarted ugly cars due to the economy as well as enviorment; well they can care less since they want that moolah lol. I mean the Nissan Versa? wtf? the new Sentra? Garbage! lol..Man what ever happened to the architects of the cars in the 90s. Man i miss their styling compared to futuristic and retarted styling lol. I know this is a new era but wtf? i mean can't automakers make cars that abide to the consumers expectations on what a car should really look like while saving gas and maybe help the enviorment? automakers should look into areas where people who would be interested, more than likely us nico people lol. They should have kept going with the new SILVIA PROJECT... but no... Retarted CUbe project was better pshhhh.. garbage.automakers should reimburse previous models of past history such as the beautiful.. 240sx and redesign it with the technology we have today, while , keeping many of its features. For example, how ford redesigned the mustang of the 60s; I despise mustangs heh.

But yeah, im with many people on how cars look ridiculous now a days but a few are an acception.Anyways, American cars aren't all that bad nowadays and some of the past. since we are in a new era automakers are incorporating features off of other automakers and technology seems to grow rapidly. I mean cars of the past? I see people with a point when it comes to the specs because cars and its makers have their advantages and disadvantages especially how different countries weren't as open as they were till now.

i mean look at mazda and ford together; even though its wak. their cars show similarities. Mazda, established in japan, still continues with many japanese features but with also american as well.

well thats what I think and i agree to disagree with many car models of today.Im sticking to Nissan for life and ill never own a honda or a ford.So Nissan/Infiniti/Datsun for life son!
