I wasn't sure what to get. I went to all the dealership around here. I was disapointed could not find anything I liked inside and outside. 3 weekends I spent dealer to dealer testdrives and nothing. Then my friend who owned a G coupe that time asked me if I've seen the new G sedan. I walked in the dealership the same day and knew it right away when I saw the G in the showroom. So to answer the quesion I don't know I could not fnd anything I liked. The second best was on the list the Lexus then TL but they were all missing one of the main key in my decision. But probably would of bought one of them. Most likely the Lexus.

I actually almost got a 350Z on a couple of different occasions (pearl white or Caribbean blue), and was shopping for that or a 2002 Audi S4 TT AWD! I wanted a good luxury/sport mix and the Z wasn't luxury enough, and believe it or not, the G actually had the cheapest insurance. So the cheaper insurance helped me to be able to afford higher payments and was a wash overall, but still stayed under my total monthly amount I wanted to spend on a car. So the G was a win win! ....and the rest is history, and I've been in love ever since!

Thats an interesting question...well for me, the G35 was a compromise. I was originally interested in an 03-04 Z06 Vette, but the lack of a backseat was an issue.

Still may get the vette, 05-06 at least...maybe a Z06 if I can find a good deal on one.

Between the middle of November and the end of December I was possesed with the need to find a G. It had to be an 05 6MT coupe (or newer) for under 20,500 and unmodded.

While searching, I was very tempted by an S2000 (with the higher redline) and a 350Z both 6MTs and both a lot cheaper.

I needed the additional length though for my job, so I passed on them. An 04 S2000 for $14k was pretty tempting though. It looked to be in pristine condition, but something must have been wrong with it. The seller said he got an awesome deal on it and could pass on the saving

I was heavily looking into a maxima 2-3 years ago, it was my logical upgrade to an Altima, until I realized the price gap wasn't a lot between g35sedan + the maxima, plus the new gen released and it was like love @ first sight!

The G was just too good of a car for the money.

Same here! I had a big front page picture of a laser red G-35 Coupe in my office for 3.5 years. My boss brought the picture to me in my office, after realizing my obsession with a G-35 Coupe. Each day I dreamt of owning one, until 2007. And when I did, I went loco. With the installed mods on the car, I can't even begin to describe the ecstasy and euphoria I feel when i drive it. It is almost unbeleivable. I feel possessed driving the car. Can someone describe this phenomenon better for me?
Yep....creepy!! Just kidding Jacko - I'm glad you love your G as much as you do.

Same here. I've wanted the G since it first came out, i was determined to have one. I waited 5 years but it was well worth the wait. I probably could have had it sooner if i just gave up my QX. But i guess my dad finally gave up trying to get me to sell my first car that i've had since high school (the QX) and hey persistence pays off, cuz i still have my QX and now have my G!

I know all of these cars are very different but at one point I considered buying each one of them. I thought the G was the best mix between price, performance, reliability and luxury.

3-series would be my top choice if they weren't expensive to own after you dish out $40k+

I was thinking exact same thing...then California ran out of carpool stickers. These allowed certain hybrid vehicles such as prius and honda civic to drive in the HOV lanes with only a single occupant. There is one vehicle that still qualifies and that is the Natural Gas Civic. Since my wife does use the car(my G) on occasion and her job requires her to drive many miles I didn't think it would be the best option for her to be far from a refuling station for NG vehicles, their range wasn't the greatest as I recall.
