What would you drive instead?

(base this on your current situation - not "money is no object".)

Me: Most likely a lightened satin black 1993 NX2000 with full bolt ons. Would also consider a new FJ Cruiser or JCW Mini Cooper, though.

Well, my car before this was a 1987 Camry, but it kept getting stolen (3 times, recovered each time) so I got rid of it. Before that was a 1989 240SX coupe, so I would have to say another coupe. That's what I was originally looking for when I found my little red droptop. Some things are just meant to be.

If S13 verts didn't exist I would have continued my search for a 240. If not that, then I'd be driving some other Nissan...S12, Hardbody, Maxima, etc.

Or I could have just taken my dad's Jeep but that would be no fun.

Easy. During my search for a 240 vert I was actually on the lookout for a 2000-2001 subaru impreza 2.5rs coupe. Ive always had a thing for the gc8 impreza's and have contemplated on selling my vert for one

Before I bought the 240, I was looking at a Mitsu Lancer. If I hadn't been introduced to the 240s, I'd end up driving the ugly lancer turd.

I probably would have picked up some Civic or Accord as my first car, been bored to tears with it, and would have never gotten into the car scene.

Good thread!!! I'm sure I have an s13 coupe or s14 kouki for DD or something, but I'm a big time vert guy, so I still need my toy vert. I'm 100% sure that I would have bought one of these cuz it has to be a vert and rare. I also want a white car.

M100 Lotus Elan. 550 sold in the U.S.

3kgt spyder. 1,618 sold. I want VR4.

Well, if all fail, I'm okay with Paseo, Celica or Capri vert, but I'll look miserable in these things.

This used to be my dream car back in 1991. Honda Beat... This thing still looks cute to me, but I wouldn't drive now.

BTW, no Miata or s2000 for me. There are too many out there.

What about the M30??

It's a Nissan, it's RWD, it's 4 lug, it's AT ... wait the last 2 aren't "selling points".

wife and i were all ready looking for an s13 anyway, so probably would have originally ended up with a coupe or hatch s13. ultimately the wife wanted an eclipse spyder because she wanted a convertible really bad (every hot blond needs one, right?). now that she has her s13 vert, she doesn't think twice about the spyder anymore - which is fine with me because three (soon to be four) first generation dsms are more than any sane human should have.

I've been looking at a few 2004 -2005 Mercedes Benz 240C s lately. Also the SLK convert and the BMW Z3. I haven't driven one yet however. I had a MB 190E for a while that I really liked.

I love the Pathfinder but for something quick and nimble I'd probably have a little German coupe or rag top. I've only owned one American vehicle and wasn't all that impressed. I'd rather buy US but can't seem to find anything that inspires...

I would have to go with the 5 speed hatchback. If 240 verts didn't exsist.

<3 S12s...the epitome of 80's cool!

*sigh

They don't make 'em like they used to.

Seeing all those nice rides on Club S12 makes me depressed because I don't have one for myself hahaha.

To be honest, I like the S12s more than the S13s and S14s. Don't know what it is about them. And damn it's hard finding one around here for sale! I want to find one before any S12 bandwagon arises!

I'd probably be in either a Honda CRX or 88-91 Hatchback that aside from a super clean outside, would look way too harsh to ride in, much less drive daily...

I'm in Orlando. There's a white automatic notchback w/ 130-something thousand miles up in Jacksonville but the dealership wants $1750 for it. I was gonna try and see if I could get it for around $1000 but it looks like they're gonna be pretty firm about it. I check the classifieds every now and then to see if there's any reduction in the price or for other S12s. I saw 3 other hatches for sale for cheap but the posters barely provided any info or pics! I don't feel like making unnecessary trips. I've done it before, lesson learned.

The problem is, I have 2 dilemmas:1) I need to find a daily beater before anything else. I need something I don't have to worry about. My vert can only take so much abuse.

2) I'm looking for a notchback and as I'm sure you're aware of, they're more uncommon than the hatches. However, if nothing comes up, I'll be more than happy to settle for a hatch. I'm not going after a turbo model either. I'm looking at the V6s.

I'll have to probably put my search on the back burner for a while until I get everything straightened out. My money also has to go towards other stuff so it'll definitely have to wait. Unless my parents want to be uber-nice to me this Christmas...

Was a toss up between M30 Vert and 240 Vert when I was looking last year. So it would be the M30 instead.

If not 240 vert.. I'd get a 300zx 'vert.

If not a 'vert.. I've really had a hard on for a 240z lately. Man would I love that classic jdm muscle car look with a built RB26 under the hood.

mmm.. anybody want to a buy a 240 'vert?

Wow, that's a nice Z. Not digging the wheels and flares, but otherwise it's great.
