DeXteR: I agree 100%. The intakes are terrible looking. The boys at Design Craft will be making a custom unit that will be much more appealing and make more power. This picture was taken the day after the car got back from SEMA.

Video to come....taking the car to drift day in February for some sideways action!

Oh yeah....the Super Made wing mounts from beneath using screws through the deck lid.

ish, if that were truely the case, do you really think they'd spend all the time and money doing an s14 kouki conversion and installing a body kit?

110, i look forward to seeing what you come up with for the intake manifold.

DeXter; I hope you not implying the car is a show queen. Now that SEMA is behind me and 3 photoshoots the car will be driven and enjoyed as every project car should be. I assure this is no parking lot whore....unless its got cones !

nope, not at all. it is obvious, though, that style and looks matter to you. you did use a vert after all.

i understand the importance of keeping it balanced: show AND go.

Great news everyone!

I got a call this week from the editor of Import Tuner magazine. They have asked to shoot the car for the COVER of an upcoming issue! Not sure if this is a first for a 240 vert or not?

This is a total dream come true for me as I have always built cars for myself and not to impress anyone. Hence the black paint. Not that it isn't nice but I was temped to do another color but have always loved black cars and it fits the whole VIP feel. Everyone knows...if you want to get a cover or feature, don't paint your car black! Oh well, I guess this will be the exception to the rule?

On a side note, while I have the car out today I will be trying to get a few moving shots as well as the video and sound so you guys can get a taste of what the car is really about.

I'll let you guys know how it goes!

Again, thanks for all the great feedback.

Not surprised, you got the best looking 240sx Vert in the world right now. I can promise you I haven´t seen anything better in Japan or USA.

Waiting for that vid!

i don't know how far along you are in the design of your intake manifold, but perhaps you'd be open to my idea:

make an oval/rectangular/similar plenum with some tubes going down. put the throttle body on the front (kind of like an ls-x motor) and slap the filter right on the end. get rid of the cai all-together and free up some space.

... just a thought.

or you could go with individual throttle bodies like the vq-skyline from topsecret:

OMG YOU ARE THE MAN!

No 240sx verts have ever been covered by Import Tuner...just coupes and hatches. Their issue archive is on their site. There was a pink vert in Tunerzine or whatever it's called. Congrats on that, I will DEFINITELY be looking forward to that issue! Dude your ride is a role model for mine...and i'm sure for other vert owners on here. I can't to see the pics, watch the video, and hear the sound of that VQ either. If they interview you, would you be so kind to shout out us fellow vert owners?

Good job!

WOW!!! Congratulations my friend! Well done. I'm proud for you and for all of us... it's great to see more attention given to the 240 'vert. We gotta figure out how to get a NICOclub or 240sxconvertible.com sticker onto your car somewhere so that it will show up in the photoshoot.

Keep us updated on the process and let us know when you expect the mag to hit the newsstands... I'm assuming it usually takes 6 months from photoshoot to print... they usually line up a few rides well ahead of time and then build the magazine around them in the months to follow.

I'd keep the car black by the way. You said you build the car for you... keep it that way! Don't change it because you think it will impress the car mag. You got this car to this point by building it for you.. stay true to that!

i've got my 240sxconvertible.com decals that i never used (due to deer destroying the car), that i'd send you. they're opaque so they look like etched glass when they're put on the window. if you're interested, send me an email with your address to

and oh yeah, props on landing a cover-shoot! keep us posted on that. i'll be sure to pick one, maybe two of them up.

Guys....I'm at the shoot right now. The car is all cleaned up and looks great in the studio.

According to the editor it will be on the may cover with a brunette model and will hit the news stands in March. The photos are turning out great!

Thanks for all of the fantastic support vert community!

man ive allways loved verts and allways thought about a kouki front.

Thats a bad *** car and i love the VQ.

Oh, and a thought on the exhaust. Im just guessing that the exhaust is custom cause everything else is and it is a V6 not alittle 4 banger anymore.

could be duals all the way? who knows
