Ok so,

I have my 240 being worked on right now and the guys are telling me they think they know why my car wreaks of gasoline......they say either the fuel lines are rotted, or the fuel pump seals or something are down for the count. Now, heres my question

1. are either of these things bad/have to be fixed or can I just endure the stank?2. how much $$ do either of these cost?

yes, anything that leaks and is highly flammable should be fixed.

fuel lines are pretty cheap . aswell as your gasket for the fuel pump.

I had this problem when I first got my 240. it was the fuel tank seal ..really just a huge o-ring on the top of the gas tank. It's super easy to get to and the cover for the fuel pump comes off with eight 8 mm bolts. Cost is about $10 from a dealer. I really love it that 240 tanks don't have to be dropped to get to the pump..makes it soooo much easier!
