Respectable in which way? To prove you have more money?
Dollar per dollar, thta LS1 is going to provide more managable, cheaper, and more power than our SR's will.
Trust me, my car is fun. 411/335 on a 2871 .64 is a absolutly smile inducing ride, but the fact remains I'd rather have 400 whp/400ft lbs ls1/ls2 under the hood. Heck cam only ls1's do that....so f***in simple.

yes and no. the main problem started when i did the burnouts.i just ran it to long in 1st gear.
before that the car was set up perfectly.
1st gear has nothign to do with the motor blowing. It has the least amount of load on the motor as well....and with a burnout even less.
Your tune or timing was way off. There is no other reason to melt down and destory a piston like that, unless it's detonating/preigniting (well, there are, such as when the large manifold grommet was blasted up around the injector (extreme lean condition). Oh well.
But seriously, not trying to put you down or anything, but you had something wrong in there. All those little pit marks are like detonation graffitt marks....whether you want to accept it or not is not for me to care about, as I know what causes them. Id' be willing to bet that any long pulls in 3rd/4th gear did the main damage...heck even a trained hear wont' hearing a ping at thta RPM...just to much noise going on. On top of that, our knock system does not even register there.

Ah, that's freakin cool man. What school? I've always wanted to travel to the southern WA / Northern OR coast line....

yes i agree. except methanol injection is something i am going to look into and aem is capable of that. we will see.
Meth injection is great stuff, but not somethign to rely upon. Make it safe at the octane level first, and then use meth to makeit all happy. During a track day, most turbo cars get sluggish towards the end of the day (or even worse in the summer)...click on the water injection and it's like a cold fall day all over...plus our exhaust smells minty haha.
Love the progress though. Sleeved block is big boy...surprized you're not going 35r.
