hey guys,

well my motor didnt hold up to the boost and high revs i was doing.

blown piston rings.

so here are my new plans

whats happening first.

pulling apart the block, doing a .5mm over bore. possible going to a 9:1 or a 8:1 compression. switching to a MAP setup using AEM EMS. Port and polish the head, and polish the inside of the intake manifold. maybe bore out the inlet fora bigger throttle body.get some top feed fuel injectors 850-1000 cc range, for my later setup

oil cooler, oversized oil pan, and oil filter relocation should up the oil amount to around 6 qts

electric fans are coming too.cahnging up some collant lines

once that is done i will run a stock turbo to break the motor in. and see how much power i can get out of it.

who want to bet i can get close to 300 at the wheels.? lol it will be interesting.

I get free dynotime, on our schools brand new mustange dyno.

and depending on how my tax return goes. i will be buying a gt35r or gt3076r. probably the 3076 is more likely.

pics are coming later.

oh and i have a fs add in the engines section. i need the stuff gone to buy my new parts. zerothread?id=402432

PICS:

less then 1,000 miles on the clutch

ALL the junk off.

can some one say front main seal leaking?

stuff coming off

DAMAGE every single pistion was missing this part on the exhuast side. some worse then others. OVERBORE REQUIRED

ORGANIZATION:zip lock bags are your friendalong with a shop cartif this came out of order i would kill some one

Sucks to hear that. I'm glad my turbo decided to give before my motor did. I still need cams and a ecu reflash before I could even think about reaching the numbers you reached though. So did 400 whp start ever start to feel slow to you?

lol i actually never ran 400 hp on the streets. and to tell you the truth 370 never got old. i actually never got to play with it as much as i wanted too. but 500-550 is the next goal.

lol the z06 will still come eventually.

yes our auto program is a nice small family type program. like with 30 kids majoring in it. and we all keep our tools and stuff in the shop. the shop is there for use firstly and then used as a business secondly.

nice, i'm looking forward to the craziness of this build. as for getting close to 300 on a stock turbo, you'll easy do that. my friend dynoed at 280 with stock turbo and internals and nothing more then fmic, turbo manifold boost controller and power fc

yeah. i am not sure if i will do a twin scroll set up. because for what i want a gt3582r A/r .63 will do the job. now if i could get this for about the same as a gt3076 r that was twin scroll i would jump all over it.

with main hp goals being 500-550 possibly 600 with methanol injection,

i can do a none ts set up using this turbo for 3000 dollars. ............. but that means getting 272 cams. but then maybe my 264s would give it some mean mid range with a nice level peak.

the twin scroll gt3076 is $300 more then that..... hmmm do i want crazy mid range or more response these are things i need to figure out so i can make everything focus on it.

i need to research what alcohol with do to my rings and seals too.

but we will be doing some sick stuff here.

how much of an over bore will kinda be a deciding factor.

haha yeah. so i am going to be set back a little now. i am going to have to re sleeve comptely. but that means i can go with a huge over bore.

so i just have to finda shop locally to install and do machine work for me.

one that wont F it up.

How large of an overbore? look into places that do Honda motors you may have luck finding someone to sleeve it and do it correctly then.

ok i finally figured it out.

going for some crazy midrange.

3500-7500

everything is going to be focusing on this spot in the power band.

gt3076 will be the turbo. with a twin scroll setup.

over bore will be decided on when i talk to the machine shop to decided waht they think the best size would be for that range.

seems like bigger would.

i will stick with stock compression. for reliablity reasons.

now just buy my old turbo.

yep stock bottom end. that was one of the cool things about it. 56 pages is huge lol.

everything when smooth getting the mottor out and apart. nota single stripped bolt. now i just got to take off al lthe little banjo bolts and crap so i can get it cleaned good after machining.

i just need my turbo to sell so i can order my parts and pay for machining

Okay, so you got me curious now. How much boost were you pushing on this motor on a regular basis. I was under the assumption that you had were running a low of 14 psi and a high of 24 psi, but you just said in another thread that you were only pushing 10 psi and only turning up the boost once in a while.

lol normally was 10 psi of the actuator. then first setting on the boost controller was 16 psi once it got set up. and 2nd stage was 20 but spiking to 24. i only rant the 20-24 o nthe dyno.

the rest of the time i normally ran 10 or 16.

the 14 was before i got the avc-r programmed correctly

Stupid question..but how did you end up killing your piston rings?? i saw your previous build thread what happen? I just installed my blacktop to find i have bad piston rings too, im gettin oil shooting out the breather filter on the valve cover T and my idle is iffyy sometimes..

Wow, that's crazy! On my old set up I was running a low of 14 psi and a high of about 19 to 20 psi. That was until my old turbo blew out. Once I put in the GT2871R I kept it at 14 psi, but then again, I didn't push on it very much since. You must've been doing some crazy driving around town.

burnouts and hitting 8000 rpms several times over heats the motor.

You should look into Total Seal gapless rings for your build. I have them in my 7M. The 2-3% leak down is no joke, I tested!
