Not that Im really all that excited to change your mind about this, but what makes you think the KA-T cant put down 400 at the wheels?

In not sayin it cant...im just sayin it will cost the same amount to have an RB puttin down 400hp as it would be havin a KAt puttin down 400hp....

...Except that 400hp KA-T is a freshly built USDM motor with brand new forged internals-- wheras your RB is a unknown motor from some junkyard in Japan, for which parts cost a premium because many of them have to be imported. Doesnt really sound like a good comparison to me.

IDK what kind of numbers I'm putting down, but the last STi I raced at the track came off the line even with me. Actually 60' a lot better than I did, so a lil jump on me. All I am gonna say is 2nd and 3rd gear were nasty for him....

If you get to where you are trapping over 105mph, not much on the road will keep up with you. If you wanna beat Z06s, you need to start reading. All the bolting stuff on is easy. Getting it to work well together is the hard part. Yea, keep posting about what all your friends' cars do and argue with us on RBs and basically waste our time trying to help you make a decision, but if you really want answers, shut the mouth and open the eyes and ears. Get some books, spend a lot of time online researching, and go try some stuff. Trial and error has been teacher of the year for a long time now.

Any way you choose, good luck.

Without suspension / LSD / tires and perfect mechanical condition, you're not gonna do much with the additional power.

Yep learned that lesson the first night I boosted (dynoed 202rwhp)! That gets scary with an open diff and the dam car bouncing up and down going side to side! I thought the car was going to come apart. The very next upgrade LSD and rear bushing collars.

I got the IAP kit. I got the wrogn spring and had my wastegate signal tapped at the wrong place.I wa sonyl seeign abotu 4.5lbs of boost. With my open diff I couldn't take it to redline in first.Tire broke loose every time.don't evne think about taking a turn while accelerating. RB25det is a waste.Allt hat stuff you listed is great...but what baotu the internals. You can spend the ame amount on a fresh built KA and get an 500-800ecu tune so it won't blow on you.And be runnign 400rwhp all day long. While the RB could pop or spin a bearing when every it feels like it. If you want power cover all your grounds before making it. Got to make your base solid then add parts to allow it to make power

Ok, u guy have actually convinced me....surprising i know.....I have been researchin different mods for my car all day long and i have come to the conclusion that maybe i should just go with the stage 1 kit and work from the ground up....get a LSD, some nice wheels, suspension.....for the same amount as the RB.....then, ill work on the motor....pistons, rods.....

So waht i intend on doin is go with the stage 1 kit and work off that

I will have about $1500 to add onto that, what would u guys suggest i get for that??? clutch, lsd, full exhaust, boost controller, injectors, ECU???

and in response to nissanfinatic, i have been doin heavy research for the last 2 months know and i was just takin opinions for the guys that have the motors....Ive talked to the RB guys on the pros and cons...and now ive talked to the Kat guys....and when it all comes down to it....its cheaper to fix the KA when u break it...

Okay, if I "drive" my car, I don't get much wheelspin past launching first.

"Drive"-v. To operate a car with the intentions of running the best possible ETs.

antonym-dumping clutch at 5k, shifting as hard as you can to every gear with no clutch feathering, and just all around attempting to "flaunt" your power. Also driving on un-prepped/****ty roads with the intentions of bragging about display of power

4.5psi is not going to spin from throttle only accleration. Not in 1st, not in 2nd, none. Unless you try to spin the tires. Accelerate quickly? yes. Prolly won't see the needle.LoL But you won't be spinning.

615cc injectors, Enthalpy tuned ECU, 300ZX MAFS, SAFC, PLX M-300 wideband, no boost controller. My wastegate is sprung/shimmed to 11psi.

What do you call basics?

I didn't buy a kit. I pieced one together. So the "Stage x" doesn't apply here.

http://www.rs-enthalpy.com

That would fall under the research I mentioned.

On a scale of 1-2956, I'd say it was a 3 or 4.

Random places. Ebay, IAP, nippon power, ect.

have you looked into it at all? more potential then the rb26 and it's a usdm engine, no importing parts. granted there is a greater initial cost involved but imho it's well worth it.
