You can test the operation of the injectors using a 5 volt power source-battery or adjustable power source-you can use more than 5 volts but the power supplied to the injectors through the vehicle is 5 volts-so if you have an injector that has excessive resistance more voltage may give a good reaction-make sure to put power to power terminal and ground to ground-just pulse the wires to the terminals and listen and feel for the click-this will only check for operation-not for a plugged injector-

with a multimeter check the terminals for power and ground-check for power with the key on-there should be a 5 volt signal-ground is supplied through the ecm so it will only pulse when the engine is running or starting-an analog meter is easier to test this-

another way to check for power flow is with a noid light-most auto parts stores will carry some type of universaal noid light-this has a led light inside that will pulse with injector signal-

hope this helps and good luck!!don't give up hope

Sorry to hear about your car 240marcuSX, it sux another person is hopping in the boat with me :( Ya, a meet would be cool, maybe once our cars get straight. You have decided to the same thing I was thinking of doing, completely modded suspension!!! Thats awesome. I dont know how much Hp my SOHC, I ran a 10.5 in the 8th at Natural Bridge. But now I have my rebuild done too it, header, no butterflies, and a custom high flow cat :D Hopefully low 10s now.

I did recplace all my bent valves when I took my head off, I rebuilt the head, I took all my valves to a machine shop, got him to check them and resurface them and I replaced the bent ones, and Iam +++ my timing is right now. Iam gonna do a compresson test tomarrow(hopefully when my timing was wrong I didnt break anything) Also a guy told me to spray some starter fluid(just a tad) and see if it starts or whatever, so I will try both tomarrow, Ill keep everyone updated.

Thanks guys for the information and support!!!!

Trueslide:you have a problem that sounds familiar to one I had a few months back. I replaced the timing set on my SOHC and set the static timing (making sure #1 is TDC compression, distributor in correct position etc.). went to start the car--only hit one or two times didn't run at all. I had a friend crank the engine as I turned the distributor and it started to run really rough, I ran out of adjustment in turning the distributor. as the car was running rough we used a timing light with electronic advancement to find out what was wrong. turns out, setting up the distributor at 4 o'clock position (#1 tdc static timing) was not where it should be in my case. pulled the distributor and set up engine #1 tdc replaced distributor between the 9 and 10 o'clock position and it started up on first crank, did final timing adjustment and car ran great. only thing I can think is that the crank angle sensor that is located in the distributor is broken/moved or something. something definately is wrong with it. but it did run after that till the freakin rod bearings went straight to sh*&!! anyhow, good luck.

Hey guys, well the latest update is I did a compression test on my car, had a thread about it. It went as follow:cylinder 1 = 120cylinder 2 = 130cylinder 3 = 105cylinder 4 = 130I pulled the head and looked at the pistons, slight dents, so Iam assuming more valves are bent, rawr. Gonna get a different head and put it on and hopefully it will run,
