I'm still young, a girl and willing to know about cars, especially the Infinite G35 Coupe. I've been dying for a G35. I've seen so many of these sexy cars. I'm thinking about buying one of them as I get older. What's the greatest facts I should know about them? It would be very helpful for me, if I get some great suggestions or what so ever (:

Welcome to NICO

The first fact is the G is a pretty expensive first vehicle for a young driver. My advice is to wait until you are a little older and have more driving experience as well as a good job. Graduate HS, get into a good college with a good education and get a well paying job. Get yourself a nice Honda Civic stick in the meantime and save some money while getting driving experience. The G is a pretty pricey vehicle for someone so young as you. Gasoline prices are expected to continue to rise. Filling my G is now over $50

You can read and learn a lot by reading here so you'll be very knowlegable when you finally start shopping for your brand new 2013 G When you get that first well paying job you can ask me about 401k plans.

Welcome to NICO

For a girl, the biggest problem you'll have with a G35 is keeping the boys out of it. They won't leave you alone.

Their not going to leave her alone even without a G

By learning to drive a stick its less likely anyone will ask to borrow your car.

When I taught my daughter how to drive a stick shift she complained about why we didn't have a automatic like everyone else. When she had her learners permit in high school I picked her up one afternoon with some of her friends. One was a male. As she began to drive my 92 Lexus 5 speed the boy in the back seat commented "wow you drive a stick, I can't drive a stick"She never complained about a manual shift again and when she purchased her first car after college it was a 5 speed Honda Civic

Kimly,

Here's the first advice. It's an Infiniti. Some of us have sticks up our butts that irritate when people spell it wrong.

Second, like telco stated. Gas on a G is horrible. He's complaining about $50/tank. Here in SoCal a full tank (20) gallons cost me over $80.

Next piece of advice. Get yourself a nice Front wheel drive car first. Learn how to drive it well. Learn your limitations and the car's limitations, then when you're ready (skills and finances) buy yourself something like a G.

You might also consider a G35X (All Wheel Drive AWD). I'm guessing Maine gets cold and wet. Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) G35s don't like water and snow.

I saw the G35 coupe when I was around your age. I really wanted one (didn't ask my parents because I knew it wouldn't happen, but they knew it). It took me almost 6 years to get one, but I'm glad it wasn't my first car. I would have slammed it into a wall or pole if it was.

Thank you everyone for the welcoming and the replies. I learned a few from you lovely people (:

As for telcoman, I'm going to take your advice on the honda civic as well to stick with at my age. I'm a junior in high school this 07-08, I have a job working as a retirement home (an okay job). All I gotta say is, G35s are the most sexiest cars alive! ^_^ haha. I just recently got into cars at this moment. So, what's the 401k Plan telcoman? haha.

rn79870, i have to agree with you on that. haha, all the boys would die to ride with me ;D haha jk jk :p

sentientbydesign, I got chu on that "Infiniti" (: I agree with you also, Maine sucks. I mean, the place here is nice and clean, what so ever but the weather truly sucks, snow and rain. I think what I heard was like it's illegal to have tinted windows, neon lights, and all the other nice stuff you can't be creative with. I agree with your advices as well. Thank you.

Most of your advice was good. WTF is this about learn to drive in a wrong wheel drive? That is terrible advice. I learned to drive in a small truck with no weight in the back. It was the best way to learn how to handle a vehicle. Find a lonely dirt road, and DRIVE!!!

You will learn how to drive, recover from oversteer, and get an idea of how to drift all at the same time. However back then, it wasn't called drifting, no one had heard of such a thing. It was ses sliding the car... LOL.

Personally I say if you want to learn how to drive a car instead of how to steer and step pedals, get 5 speed rear wheel drive.

Welcome to Nico!

Nothing wrong with a Z!! I've driven several and they are fun too!My rear end prefers the seats in the Z, however I prefer the looks of the G.

Oh, is that what is it? Hm, I just got my driver's permit. At the driving school I went too, I drove the Cadillac CTS, by stepping on the gas lightly, the car went quick instantly, but when I drove my mom's Honda Accord V6, i stepped on the gas pedal lightely, it didn't go as much as the Cadillac did. Is there any difference between that?

Two cylinders and a substantial amount of horsepower. Caddies aren't bad. Some aren't just land yachts, and a bit sporty, like the one you drove.

***EDIT***

I was wrong. The Caddy CTS is also a 6 cylinder, but has direct port injection, which offers a bit more power.

Accord 244 HP and 232 lb/ft torque

CTS 304 HP and 273 lb/ft torque

Oh, I see now, horsepower that is. Yeahs, from what I drove at that driving school, it's pretty nice. I also had to drive the durango (which was different) because of the transmission I guess. Cars are pretty new to me now. Trying to get myself in the program here with cars.

CTS has a v6. Only one that has a v8 is the cts-v...which I doubt she drove. If it was one of the new ones it could have had the direct injected v6 which makes somewhere around 300 hp, but that's a 'spensive car for a driving school.

I was/ am obsessed with all things GM, and was looking into getting a v before I came to my senses and got the G.

Ugh you beat me to the punch. She could have driven the non-direct injected cts since its much cheaper, which puts out 263 hp/ 253 lb-ft

I'm not quite sure what kind of CTS I drove but yeahs. Of course it's expensive. Aha, I paid 500 dollars for that driving school. Here in Maine, I'm guessing it's very high amount to pay for a driving school o.O maybe? Taxes here sucks too! Before I was obsessed with Honda Civics. Now, I'm SOOOO into them G's<3

Just know that your first car will most likely be involved in an accident. Buy a junker to learn on, then graduate to the G

I agree with you on that. I don't even have a car yet, I just recently backed up my mother's Honda Accord and possibly scratched her bumper and left a dent on the left side of it by hitting a light pole >.< Lucky for me, I didn't bump into someone's elses car. This happened like last night. Yeahs, that's what I get hearing my mother yelling at me for the stupidest reasons. Isn't that a rule? To not yell at young drivers while they're driving? Uhm I think so. Haha, so lame.

Well, anything that is worth it for me. Something I can stick with in the meantime. My boyfriend has a 1994 LS 2 Door but crashed, being fixed in the garage. What do you think that's best for me?

it really depends on budget.5-10k-- i suggest a used RSX if you can find one10-15k -- Acura TSX or Honda accord coupe15K -- You can get a 2003-2004 G for this range, but i wouldnt recommend it. always stay away from first model year cars because the problems havent been ironed out.

truthfully, given your age, sedan, nothing too flash, 4cylendar is your best bet. insurance is gonna kill if you get anything too nice...

just my 2 cents

Yessir, I agree. My mother was telling me about how insurance is going to be pain in the butt once I do get my own car. Bummers! Oh, I really do recommend getting a RSX then probably take my time to make it sexy for a little, haha. Not that much, cause afterwards, the G's will be next in my hand :D

yeah, and you should get a smaller car. given your pics, i assume you are 5-2 or there abouts. the G is a big car. RSX should fit fine if you get that. Im actually really partial to the new Smart ForTwo. They are running around Indianapolis. Look real awesome in that wierd way. But i digress.

Wow, your good. You actually guessed my height correctly :o amazing! haha. Yeahs, now my boyfriend is telling me to get a RSX Type S manual. He's possibly gonna teach me how to drive a stick with his Integra (once it's done).
