So i got a 96' 240 <_<... And i wanna get a SR20 of course, because i will be drifting. I've heard that 450bhp is best, with around 400lbs of torque... I know SR can hit this with few huge upgrades

BUT WHO DO I BUY IT FROM? JDM says this, FRS says this JMI says this.... WTF?!?!?!? I dont care how much i have to pay, but i do wanna get some upgrades. I dont know much about the engine itself, but plenty about the car... So gimmie a hand, I'm looking for that much bhp when it lands on my doorstep.

THANKS!

450 hp is weak!!! YOu need atleast 800 hp to drift!!

Search and NICO has lots of sponsors to get sr20's from.

FYI, its easier to attain that number with an LS1 rather than SR's, plus theyre lighter with more cylinders and no boost lag... http://www.xatracing.com/ls1.htm

I speculate that in the near future, LS1 will become the next bandwagon

Go with heavy throttle they are nice people, but the only thing is that you have to buy their swap package to get the motor because is comes with some good stuff like an FMIC and other goodies. Which is a good starting point.

We should see if wiring specialtys will start selling a conversion harness for the LS1, to make it easy for the sheep, or three legged hampsters, whichever you like

Check out http://www.heavythrottle.com for swap packages with upgrades added from the vendor. I've talked to Jeff (I think that was his name) and he was VERY helpful and down to earth when it comes to people new to the 240/SR swap.

Always support NICO sponsors whenever possible.

Yes, I have to agree. I got a 4g63t from them for a good price that was in super good condition...until it snapped a rod. I will be getting my engine from them.

lOl...I can see this guys future. He is going to be one of those noobs that over powers and spins out on every turn. Why does everyone think they need 400hp in a 240...thats a retarded amount of power for this car. You can drift with the stock engine, just get suspension and a diff. Just watch the drift bible and listen to what Keiichi says..."its all about balance"

I was lookin at buyin from Jarcoinc but hadn't heard of Zerolift. Do we have a writeup on them? how was the shipping and did it take long to get it? It seems that from what i've read on here there quality is very good. Has anyone had any problems? They are CHEAP price wise which is the only reason i'm askin.

No lie, definately there were a few problems when the business was still young. But that has been 4+ years now. Alot of Ownership / staff changes have been made since then. I am currently underway with being a Nico Vendor, expect that to happen within the coming month. If i can be of help, let me know. Thanks.
