bolt in is for looks it dosent do much when you roll over, welded will do much more structural wise

Plus Welded in parts seam to how a lot better reaction to stiffness of the vehicle.

how is this true? unless the bolts actually break i cannot see how a welded in cage and a bolted in cage are different. For body stiffness obviously a welded will do much better, but just for pure weight on it...i dont see how they could be different.

Cusco sells some look around if your gonna be daily driving it then you need to think about if you want the look of a caged ride or you want some weekend warrior help.

If you are gonna get one for daily driver type try to get one where the rails are below your waist at least from your direct sides to under the dash, You don't want to hit your head on a metal bar in a bad wreck. <--you.

Also you need to do a rear seat delete if you are gonna have a horizontal going behind your seats for seat belts. If you have someone riding with you and you have that then the cop will get you for reckless endangerment. plus its not smart to put friends and/ or family in harms way.

Remember pads are your friend but think about were you will most likely flail towards if you were to get in a wreck and dont put bars there... other than that go crazy.

i went thru a week long phase of wanting a cage. i researched ALOTauto power bolt ins are scca legal for club racing/drifto. as long as you use that backup plate thing. that will prevent bars fron just going thru the floor.iirc that mustang only had a roll bar. and no plates.i would never get a cusco. they have "S" bends to go around the dash. which make it weaker. but ther also legal... and you dont have a bar right THERE. or you dont have to cut up dash.

if ur in some kinda event where your going so fast that your gona roll 20 times... get a welded FIA spec cage.but on any small drift event or road course i think a bolt in will do just fine.

That mustang didn't have a full cage, it only had a roll bar. Idiots.Think before you speak. That mustang has no reason to be in this conversation. It had a bolt in ROLL BAR, not a bolt in ROLL CAGE.

Tell me how "Cage + Roll Cage = Dead" the bars shouldn't be in a position for you to hit your head on to start with. Enlighten me.

The flipped 180sx in that picture has a Cusco roll cage, iirc.

He created that circle IIRC.

To whoever said that "cage + daily = dead" obviously forgot about cage pads.

And NO, I'm NOT talking about pool noodles!

i have a bolt in roll bar. the car feels a LOT stiffer then it did before. and i have no doubt that if i ever rolled for some reason it would do its job.

i also dont have padding around it at all because its positioned far back enough that if you hit your head on it your already dead.

I have the Cusco half cage as well. It stiffened up the chassis quite a bit.

That is all.

The goal is a fun daily driver that i can take to the track and still have a ton of fun. Eventually tho it'll just become a track car.
