If you are gonna get one for daily driver type try to get one where the rails are below your waist at least from your direct sides to under the dash, You don't want to hit your head on a metal bar in a bad wreck. <--you.

Also you need to do a rear seat delete if you are gonna have a horizontal going behind your seats for seat belts. If you have someone riding with you and you have that then the cop will get you for reckless endangerment. plus its not smart to put friends and/ or family in harms way.

Remember pads are your friend but think about were you will most likely flail towards if you were to get in a wreck and dont put bars there... other than that go crazy.
Thx for the input. and the seat is already gone and the interior is stripped and waiting for paint. And there is no way more than two people car ride in my car. ahha.

if ur in some kinda event where your going so fast that your gona roll 20 times... get a welded FIA spec cage.but on any small drift event or road course i think a bolt in will do just fine.
The autopower ones do look very good. A bit more expensive than i thought. but thx for the input.

If it's a daily driver then don't get a cage. Wait until it's an all out track car before you take that step. Yo'll be able to have fun without a cage.

SFI padding is meant to work with a helmet, so it really might not do all that much if your not wearing one.

I'f your still keeping it on the street, then I would get the autopower roll bar. You can always add their weld in kit, or have someone else weld onto it down the road.

i'm assuming anything is better then nothing, plus with the seat location and the harness's i'm no where near hitting any of the bars.

I drove my S14 with Safety21 cage for my everyday car for quite a long time. I had the Cusco padding above my head just in case.

My S13 had a Safety21 cage also.

I would 400% recommend them. Anybody who doubts them is just speaking out of their a**.

You see some of these guys running cages with no padding and they are doing it DD style. If someone were to get in a wreck and hit a steel tube with there head b/c he's not DDing with a dot helmet then he'll crack open his bucket and spaghetti will fall out.

Ok I know that here in pennsylvania roll cages are not illegal and no cop cares if you have them. That said. I'd only get one if you didn't want the rear seat. And padding is what's supposed to protect you from cracking your noodle but for daily driving I don't see why'd you need a roll cage. But if your spending all your money on your race car and need one (here you need one if you go below 12 seconds in the 1/4) or your going to do some track time or you drive like a maniac like some people I know.... lol then get one. there was a dude with a 30psi neon that had one around here - 14 sec 1/4s on 30psi of boost - so that's an example of not to have one lol. Anyway I support roll cages simply because I like my car to be really really stiff and I rather not die if someone slams into me on the road. But to each his own. Plus for a good really strong roll cage that's welded in your going to give up a lot of space in the car and the back seat will definately be useless. Also seeing out the back of the hatch will be a pain lol. But I mean if your going to have a cage I'd also get some good seats and some harnesses to make full use out of it. However, I know the law around here is even if you have race harnesses on that you still need to wear your seatbelt too (I have no idea how the seat belt is needed as well as your properly installed harnesses but I didn't write the law either.

i had planned to get a bolt in then at some point have it welded for extra peace of mind (although it would be safe without it) as far as that mustang pic you can clearly see that its cheap and apparently didnt have backing plates or a good mount what so ever, looks like they bent a tube and tacked it in

just get a cusco bolt in and call it done
