Some of you may have noticed I don't really post much anymore, for like a year. Well I have been working like crazy trying to save money. Living near the Twin Cities just wasn't for me. The rush of the city, and all the cranky people were driving me nuts. When it came time for my wife to start looking for work, she just finished grad school, we decided she would look outside of the city.

Luck was in our favor, before she was even graduated, she was offered a job near Duluth MN.

The hunt for a house was on.

After a few weeks of searching, even more waiting, a bunch of burrocracy, and way too much paperwork, its ours. We have had the keys for 2 weeks, and moving is about done. I spent some time washing my bike and the Maxima, so I figured I would snap some pictures and let Nico know what I've been up to.

Its a 3 bed, 2 bath on 3 acres. It has a detached 2.5 car garage. Best of all though, its on a dead end dirt road near a small town named Esko which is 20 minutes outside of Duluth. Its rural and I love it. I will never move back to the city.

Anyways, on to the pictures.

From the road.

Feels great to have our own house. I spent all day doing yard work, and its really shaping up. With both of us working full time im excited to have more free time personally, and more disposable income. August is coming fast, and the rally car needs the trans rebuilt, a new windshield, some body work, and maybe some more power. Let's get to it.

Here's to making a home out of a house.

Nice house man! I took the plunge a little over a year ago and it's great. Nothing like having your own place, where you can do whatever you please.

Congrats!

Nice place you got there. But where the rally track? You should plow one on a small bit of your 3 acres.

I wish. 3 acres isn't quite enough for a decent practice course, that will have to wait.

I would, but I don't think anyone would show. I am too far for anyone, except maybe Torry, Dave, Chase, and Cale.

Wow! That land looks beautiful!

The house looks like something out of a Clint Eastwood flick? Is your house painted with creosote?

I don't think so, if it were, I think it would be set to survive a nuclear holocost.

Thanks again for the kind words everyone.

It'll fit!!

Im personally more of a city boy, but your house looks like a great escape from all the stupid traffic and crazy people. My dad had a neighbor that had a rooster. EVERYDAY at sunrise it would be roostering, in the middle of a city!! I couldn't take it. I hope it died a painfully slow and agonizing death.

What kind of wild life could you expect up there?

Place looks great Ian. I'll definitely need to take a trip up there soon. Maybe I can get a quick day-trip in August.

I'll make this real simple:

"You're doin' it RIGHT."

Congrats, Ian - The place is beautiful... I'm stoked for you guys. Looking forward to decades' worth of epic projects coming out of that garage (and home).

Well done, sir.
