i think my gas gauge is broken/half retardedddd....

if your gas meter is broken,

you just reset the top odometer right after you fill up,

and estimate how many miles a full tank will go for, and fill up whenever it reaches that number

my gas meter is completely broken, so that's what I do

When I fill up, my gauge only goes to 3/4. So, when my car is at "e", I better find a gas station in the next... oh, 80-100 miles.

this thread just proves that Nissan Instruments are the suck.

All my 240s have had funk gas gauges were the first quarter tank goes in no time at all, then like the next quarter takes for ever, then the next basicallly doesnt exist then the last quarter seems to last days.... idk but they are funk.

Oh, and my titan is crap gas gauge too. I ran it basically down to E. Id say it was at 1/9th a tank or something really low like that. I put the nozel in the truck..... filling filling filling. CLICK. OK its done.... wait? only 23 gallons WTF mate.

SO i get in the truck and the needle doesnt move. im like humso i start it and turn it offdo it accouple times and there it goesneedle goes to just barely under FULL. So im like... hummmm i guess when im really low theres stilla bout 5 gallons left (28 gallon tank do the math).

Anyways, I pull outta the gasstation and a minute later the thing drops to 3/4 a tank. Im like WTF!!!!!

Arg. nissan gauges FTMFL!

mine is actually very accurate, but thats when it works. its hit or miss, sometimes it just sits at the bottom, sometimes it reads dead on. more often than not it reads right, but sometimes it just falls to the "e" even if the car is full. my "get gas now" light has never worked.

sucks for me cause my speedo doesnt work either... so i cant use the odometer to know when to fill up

for the people that never had the gas light come onprobably u didnt wait long enoughit usually comes on after a notch or two below Efirst its really dimm, then it brightens up then you should REALLY go get gas, about like 20miles left or so

Mine is stuck middles ways and seldom moves more than a quarter either way, empty or full. I ran on E a few times and I don't think my fuel pump is burnt. But anyways since I'm broke as hell the low fuel light is plenty to let me know where I am

ive had that problem in my 240. i just checked the floating thing in the gas tank. turns out that the thing that tells you how much gas you have was stuck. i just moved it along the rail and now it works fine

.... About that brighting up mine doesnt it stay's dimm so dimm u cant see it at day soo dimmm..u only notice when u are out of gas!

LIES!!!!!!! I've driven a total of 60 miles with that bad boy on! You just gotta stop really hard so the fuel goes forward in the system rather than puddling in the tank. The gas light will go back off and will allow you a little longer. Laugh all you want it is the mother effin truth. I do that every other Thursday before payday.

I are have thy problem

just yesterday the needle was a tad bit under the 1/4 mark. so i said to my self.. "ok i have enough to get home and back to work." driving half way home the stupid thing reads E! and im like

i looked back to see if i spilled any gas or a mad leak... nuffin!

soo... ok i have gas and my needle is broke... ok, so i keeped driving. looking at the needle on the way home. it starts to drop all the way to the bottom. like if the car was off!!!

slowly the needle starts to come back to the E

and lags it to get back to were it was...

so this morning i got in the car and the needle was back to normal!!!

now i dont trust it no more... and i filled the gas tank...

" NEEDLE... i thought we was like this "

The gas sloshes around in the tank, giving different readings depending on how youre turning, uphill/downhill, and all that stuff.

thats on every car.

the needle droped all the way down WAY pass the E till it hit the plastic panel on the bottom.

were you turning or going uphill or goign straight, or driving hard? My moms gas gauge in her tribute dosent change when i go around the same bend with my 240. But my needle never dropped that low lol. I guess you and your car aint tight no more.

i was driving normal on a flat street.

im going to have a serius talk with my car when we get home.
