i agree with nismo. My shoes have a distinct purpose. I have ones for work, everything else, and boots for hunting. Also have some docs for when I need to be dressy.

As for people that buy something and don't use it, how about about 90% of the Land Rover owners. I've only seen a handful of trucks come through covered in mud. The rest have baby seats in em. These have one of the best 4wd designs ever, use it people!

I have yet to use it for any emergency situation, but it makes for a good means of securing pants. I have no idea what I did with it though...

yeah, by jumping out my bedroom window on the first floor of a one story house...

this was also when I had my "adventure pack" in high school...I had all kinds of stupid **** in my back pack like rope and matches and tape and a foot long peice of rebar....it was awesome.

My parents ask me the same question. I've spent thousands but I am always barefoot or in a pair of reefs or rainbows.

I love my Rainbows. I have 4 pair. Ranging from 6 mo. to 6 years old. Best damn footwear I've ever owned. But I wear a size 14 shoe, so mine were hard to find. Yeah, they're about $50 for just flipflops, but they have a life-time warranty. I've also noticed that some of the Japanese people here stare at my feet when I wear sandals... I think they're scared of my big feet... but I guess I'll keep that to myself.

Oh, and Jesda, thanks for quoting Dave Berry. He always puts everything into perspective. "Dave Barry Does Japan" is such a hilarious read.... I highly reccomend it.
