That's what happens when you get old!But take my word for it, when you turn 40 you will want your stick back. When you go through your midlife crisis, at least that is what my 19 yr. old son calls it.

That's okay, it's kind a of fun. I feel like I'm still 20, it's the 20 yr. olds that look at me funny. Who knows what they are saying.

The only thing age did, is not let me limit my car options to only those with manual trannies. I would have gotten a manual if it was offered, but I wouldn't turn a "powerful" car down anymore, just cause it only cam in an auto.

Which is why I am enjoying my youth to the fullest; driving nothing but a stick shift. Every single one of my friends' cars is a 5spd, so its great.

I personally don't mind either one. A 5 speed is fun for racing, but an auto is much more practical around town.

Sounds like a good compromise to me! ;)

Actually, I'm almost 30 and I still enjoy driving a car with a manual transmission. They're just more fun. However, if I had the luxury of owning two cars I'd most likely get an automatic for those LONG drives or boring city commutes.

Years ago, I decided that I had become old when the birthdates of the centerfolds in Playboy were after mine!

Now, I lament the fact that their birthdates are after I graduated from college. :(

I'd laugh but I'm 31.....Sometimes I like an auto, mainly going to and from work. There is no stigma to that so relax, ya old fart:pface

Doesn't matter how you change gears, as long as there's LOTS of horsepower turning them at mucho RPM's. :D

yup, and it's gonna stay that way. everytime i think about my original plans to swap to a 5 speed i get disgusted. shifting gears used to be sooo fun. now it just seems like a chore.

i'm gonna be the 70 year old fart who's climbing in and out of cars sitting 4 inches off the ground and 7 speed trannies (they better have at least a 7 speed transmission when i'm that old)
