well, i know the plymouth minivans were in the early 90s <the box-lookin ones> they had leaky valve stem seals...love to eat the timing belts & chew up waterpumps...

but, i'm to the point where I'm using the roof as a 2nd trunk <strap down the strollers, trikes, etc on the rack>

Hey demcj: 30 ain't old. And 2nd childhoods are great fun for getting thru the ol' mid-life crisis. Good sports cars help too. Though my wife is convinced I'm on my 5th childhood.

Trust me, you aren't even close! I've got you by a few years (couldn't be your Dad, maybe your older brother:) ) and I still love the stick cars. Of course, my wife has the *nice* car that we take when we go out!

Demetrius, don't feel bad.

I haven't driven stick in 5 years. I drove a stick Impreza recently from San Francisco to San Mateo on 101 at 8.00AM, by the time I arrived (roghly 25 mile trip - over 70 minutes) I was pissed as NEVER before. No sticks for me and I'm 26.

Did I mention that I live in SF where you would go through clutches like russian would go through a case of vodka.

yeah. because of all the icy rain we've had here, i decided to drive my 5 speed saturn to work...the love for shifting gears is definitely gone.

I love my 5 speeds, have only had one auto in my life and i just turned 28. What i don't know if i could handle is big semi trucks... those things have like 16 gears i think. Something like that. you think driving from stop to stop to stop is annoying in a 5 speed?
