Here is the story..... I was driving on Harbor Blvd and some Mexican dude in G35 revved me out and kept driving right next to me for about 3 blocks. I was little irritated so I just drove faster to get away from him.... then he thought I was racing him so he kept up with me until we ended up side-to-side at the stop light with no cars in front of us. I thought to myself, I'm gonna kill this car...... so I turned on both low and high boost controller which will give me 1.5bar(20psi?) of boost. Then we raced, I killed him as soon as I hit 2nd gear all the way to 4th. By the time I hit 4th gear, he was about 5-6 car lengths behind.......hell yeah!!!!!

about a week later, I was driving my car and I hear this noise coming from my turbo area......Oh crap, I think I blew my turbo.......I remember Norm said he blew his stock turbo on S14 when he raced G35.....maybe stock SR shouldn't race G35? Oh well, at least we both beat G35!!! LOL.

Now that my turbo is blown, I'm gonna build my engine(Tam, don't tell my GF at work!!!!).I want some big power. I don't want 400HP..... my goal is to hit 500-550HP range.

I need some feedback from everyone what you think and some suggestions on which part I should go with for me to achieve this type of power. I don't care much about having fast response because I won't be drifting anymore. I know I have to go with top mount turbo for sure...... RAY!!!, I'm gonna need your help on this!!!! call you later man.

yeah, everything stock internals..... going to fully build it. I'm still shopping around on what parts to buy.......but I will fully build it. Here is what I'm thinking so far:

Mahle Pistons (87mm 8.5:1 cr)Pauter rodsBlitz 800cc injectorsGreddy Intake manifoldTomei Valve SpringsCrower RetainersPort/Polished HeadTomei Valve GuidesTomei Pro cams(270lift)Tomei Solid lifterTomei FPRARP studsFull Race twin scroll manifoldGarrett Turbo(don't know what kind yet...probably what Norm recommended me)Haltech E11V2 or Autronic EMS

That's all I can think of right now...... some of the parts on the list may not be suitable for my power goal....so anyone got better idea, let me know.

I thought about that. I'm not a big fan of RB for some reason. I rather go 2J or LS1.

Okay, After many thinking, and discussing with Ray at the meet last night, it made me think....... I was adding up the parts price and installation fee and etc. on my SR20 build, it will cost approx. $12000-$15000 by the time my engine runs perfectly. But here is another solution:

2JZ swap(stock) = $6500 - $8500 and have power for balls kickin' 1000HP later.....LS1 swap(stock) = $7500 - $10000 and have the torque enough to catch instant boner......VQ35 swap(stock with AEM) = $8700 - $10000 and become an smog legal angel (for a while........ ).....

These are the motor options I have in mind. I was thinking about going with RB26 but I think I'll pass(for a good reason).....

What you all think? I know I'm not going with my HP goal but all the motors above is capable of going well over 500HP later.

LSx, can't go wrong with instant boner! and 8 cylinders... Also smog legal if u get block from 97 or newer and retain all emission components.

Yeah, I hear you. But I don't know who does this swap in SoCal though..... I better search. Thanks Brian.

I might go with VQ swap. I just visit VQSWAP.COM shop and the owner Andrew is super cool guy. I really like the fact that it's very reliable engine with low miles than any other swap I'm thinking about. It also coome with A/C and Power steering!!!! that is cool......

Hmmm I was doing some thinking. If you kept the s14sr...

Rebuild head with cams, springs, retainers, head studs, head gasket and ras ~$1200

Machining and labor ~ $600

gt2871r turbo, hks manifold ~$2000

FCon VPro w/harness and sensors tuned ~$2500

Stock bottom end (since it's a newer kouki motor)

~$6500 for ~350whp?

I know this shouldn't be posted but I just want to let my SoCal buddies know before I take it to the Classified forums. I'm gonna be selling my entire SR20DET setup. They turbo is in crappy condition(got shaft play) but everything else is in pretty good condition. As much as possible, I want to sell everything in one set with no part outs.......sorry.

The list:

S14 Zenki blacktop SR20DET(complete with ecu , transmission , driveshaft)Wire harness fully plug and play for S14(professionally done by Ken Flores). yes, A/C will work.Blitz FMIC(full piping) 6 months old.HKS BOV(new type)Blitz SUS Power intake Filter(6 months old)Greddy Boost gauge(in bar)Greddy Oil Pressure gaugeS14 pillar dual podGreddy turbo timerGreddy boost controllerWalbro 255 fuel pump(brand new)

I think this is all needed to run the SR engine..... I don't know how much this is worth so if anyone is interested, shoot me an offer. This engine is going out of my car by end of January.

Yes, you are right Norm. I can go with that option...... everything you recommended me has always been a awesome set up. But you know me Norm...... I like to be little different. I did some thinking...... I eventually want to enter my car at the shows and I don't want to line up next to other S14's with similar setup....... I want to be able to pop my hood open and be different. There are too many SR20's out there..... but don't get me wrong, I think SR is one of the best out there. But I want to be different......... does this mean I'm weird????
