have you tried Under Pressure in Westminster? I know theyre really big with Supras (known for high hp supras) and they're trying to get into the 240 scene, maybe they can do the swap? I wouldn't see why not, plus they're master fabricators and can practically do anything with a welder and metal...

LOL. how about put two RB26 and make it RB52 V12? front cover of turbo magazine for sure!!!

I strongly thinking of going with VQ35 or 2JZ swap. Although I love the turbo, having an NA car is way more reliable and less maintenance......

I can't find any reputable shop that would do LS1 swap in SoCal.... there are some in NorCal but that's about it....... anyone have any shop suggestions?

I tried under pressure but they haven't got back to me yet......

still debating between LS1, 2JZ, VQ35. it seems like the price difference between VQ35 and 2JZ is pretty much the same.....and LS1 is little more. it would be really sweet if I can get the LS1 swap....... but I like the smooth running 2JZ turbo as well......... and low mileage reliability of VQ35....... I should just buy 2 more S chassis and do all three swaps!!!!!! LOL

Doesn't the LS1 require a 6 speed transmission?

And since it's a V8, you have to think about gas mileage, i'm sure it would drop, but that's only for if you care about gas mileage.

Myself, only other engine swaps I'd probably do would be LSx or RB. I'm going for ITB KA right now and maybe turbo it in the future.

Under Pressure, isn't that the shop that is right off the 405 Freeway? If so, I've been there before. My friend was having his turbo worked on his R33 a while back.

yah it does require the 6 speed transmission...iirc the ls1 v8 shouldnt be much different from a vq gas mileage wise, i actually think it mite get better gas mileage than the z.... lol

I was looking at the V8 forums and a lot of LSX swap guys are getting over 30mpg...... I dunno if this is true but I think gas is not much of a problem. I talked to Under pressure guys today and they are pretty cool people. I'm gonna visit their shop tomorrow to discuss some swap options..... Oh, I called SR20 store and Marco quoted me $14000.00 for RB26 Swap. This is the engine that is in his S13 now...... but I'm not gonna spend $14000 on a motor swap. I guess it's got Nismo twin plate clutch and stuff but I still think it's little expensive......

LOL, I didn't even think about gas mileage. I think I would still do a swap even if I were to get 10mpg..... lol.

I just visit Under Pressure in Westminster. The shop is dirty but the custom work that they do on their cars are amazing. The owner Matt is pretty cool guy. I inquired about having 2JZ swap and the price is little more than I thought it would be..... but they don't use any kits for swap because they like to fabricate everything on their own.....to ensure quality work.

So, for a price of $10k, I can get a low mileage engine(already checked it out), supra 6 speed transmission(really hard to find), harness, ecu, custom fab kit, A/C, Power steering, custom turbo piping, single turbo conversion, custom down pipe, HKS metal head gasket, ARP studs, Supra high efficiency radiator, twin electric fans, Engine bay painting, engine bay harness tuck. Is this too expensive? they will make it look like 2JZ came factory in S14.

Yeah, this Thursday sounds good. Hopefully I finish work early but if I have to work, I will just give it to Ray or Norm so they can give it to you.

Yeah, I know I know. Still debating on what to go with. So far, I think it's gonna be between 2JZ and LS1 swap. they both run in the $10,000 range so I really have to think hard on it. It's not a cheap investment so I just want to make sure it's worth it.
