i just got done putting 300zx brakes on my 240. the 30mm aluminum ones. and then i hit a snag....my wheels wont go back on. the rears will, but the fronts are a good 20mm from working. i could get spacers, but the lugs wont fit, so i will have to cut down my lugs, and my wheels will be too high of offset in the front. im in a dilema. any input would be helpful. im thinking of getting some rota d2's in black in 18x8 +25...broadfield mentioned they would fit. suggestions?

LOL you screwed yourself into having to get some extended studs and spacers or having to get some new wheels that will clear the brakes

Are you 5 lug or 4 lug?

If you're five lug get some oem rims that clear 'em.

If you're 4 lug get some rims that clear them. Get the rota's you want. If you're going in get all 4 with tires.

Sorry to hear. I hope you're five lug cause that's an easy fix.

get the elite wheels! or the fn's in +20 offset and 9" width. then again thats if you have 4 lug.

if you have 5 lug get something cheap like the s14 wheels until you can find something decent. although i think this was a "good" mistake...new wheels!!

You really screwed the pooch on that one huh?

That much spacer in the front would stick you out something furious. If you are feeling crafty, you could space all 4 wheels, then get some nice flares, that would look good.

I would just get new wheels. Thats me though, Ive never liked those Sportmaxes, they just don't fit my fancy.

There are plenty of options.

Maybe hunt down some stock s14 se's for a quick, cheap fix until you can make more plans from there?

The 18x8 +25 offset should be good to clear coilovers, but the spoke design makes the most difference on the 300zx brake clearance. I am not familiar with Rota D2 in real life, however just looking at the pictures makes me think the spokes would interfere.

I have installed MB Weapons 17x8 +28 on my car, wrapped in 235/40s and they clear nicely... I used Discount Tire Direct and browsed under 300zx for fitment.

I'd rather my car stay on cinderblocks than run Rota D2's.

Anyhow, time to start searching for new wheels.

Compared to what?

Other cheap knockoffs?

I rather have an original design from a cheap company than a knockoff that doesn't look like the real thing.

Nothing screams, "I'm too cheap to afford the real thing" like rotas and sportmax.

WHOOOO WHOOO WHOOO There!! Sportmax is another story but Rota's are Fine!

John Shepherd Runs 7.70@191mph and he rolls with rota's but he does use Volks sometimes... And im damn sure he can buy a more expensive wheel than that! to you

How are you gonna tell me they dont look the same

I don't know the dude so I can't really comment on why he does that.

But I'm sure he could run a time not far off of that with steelies also.

Doesn't mean they gain credibility.

And the fake rivits fall off of D2's.

What's your point?

Don't knock it till you tried it?

We aren't trying to convince kids to eat their veggies.

To me, telling me to not knock rotas it to not knock having sex with another man.

I don't NEED to do that to know it's gay.
