this whole weekend i spent driving around, and the few people that said "hey is that turbo?" made it all worth while. and then there is the diablo i raved. after we had talked at the previous lights and i watched him race a tt supra, i thought itd be cool to say that i raced a diablo, so i took off in 1st and he quickly passed me, but i did have to pull in to krispy kreme, so i couldnt race full throttle. then i beat a turbo eclipse, its been a good weekend

Well, if we are bragging about losing... I was beaten in the 94 bpu Supra TT pretty badly by a CLK-GTR (Yea, the one that costs $1.5 mill) while crusing around Sarasota a few weeks ago.

Ok so reasoning:

Basically I signed up for this forum originally to search for a birthday gift for my buddy, quiksilvia. I didn't want to use my usual handle that I use on my forums because he'd know it was me.. hence the "NissanDriven240sx".. blends right in. So that's why my handle is that.... but now his birthday has past and when I get done reading my forums I come to yours for more.. well.. reading.

As for my bragging about losing.. well the deal is I got new rims and haven't quite learned how to launch with them and the different tires so this CRX thought he was quick as **** I'm sure after beating me twice since I just spun my tires all the way up until 3rd when I finally grabbed and bogged down... but as soon as I got some grip I started pulling him in like a mofo however we ran out of road and had to shut it down... so that's the mention of the CRX.. at least he went home happy I'm sure.

I almost always see a Diablo when I take my car to the shop. I always ask the guys if they need someone to test drive it around the block. The always say "NO!". Of course, they also gave me the nickname "Crash", because of my various motor vehicle experiences. :D

Heh, I was only joking. Stuff like that happens. When I first toyed with the supra (raised boost, etc), I raced my friends GTI (1.8 turbo golf) I barely lost and the car was running like crap. It seems some vacuum hoses had blown off.

Anyways, the supra put down 293 whp @ 11psi. It now has an intake and is running 18 psi. I'm going to dyno is again soon, but it should be around the 350 whp once I get a cat-back. By the way, it is an automatic twin turbo.

I almost wet my pants when I saw the CLK-GTR. That car is a race car on the streets. It even had mono lug wheels. 600 hp v12's don't mess around. However, I'm pretty sure if I was one of those single turbo supra guys, I might have taken him.

I race a dude in a 91 Z28 camaro this weekend. I pulled up next to them and gave a little rev, then they looked at me and laughed (ya that year camaro isn’t all that fast), so I revved up and at the light I launch it and take them by like 1/2 a car, then I hit 2nd and they pull by about a hood, then I hit 3rd and started pulling again, by 80 I was about 1/2 a car ahead. I hate when domestic people think there cars are sooo damn fast. Irritating. Although a lot are fast, a lot aren't.

Somehow I doubt Z28s came with the V6...unless of course he misread the symbol or the Camaro guy changed emblems. But an almost stock KA keeping with a V8?

91 z28 210hp, 285 lb/ft torque, 3319lbs for the manual version.Though there is a good possibility it was a worn out crap wagon because well it's a 3rd gen camero and thats what most of them are.All info from http://autos.msn.com/vip/singl...C2%BB

210hp 3300lb isnt all that great. Abviously 170hp 2700lb is better, however, I think his syncros were ****ed because he was shifting slower than it looks like he should have. He could have just been a crappy shifter. My friend has a 92 TA with 250hp/320tq 3400lb and he runs 15.0, i'd imagine the 40less hp and torque would make it a decent amount slower, but a lot of everything is driver too. Plus who knows about the condition of the dudes car. But it was a Z28.... A v6 would have been a joke.

The vortec 4300 ain't no joke man. I used to drive a 97 S10 with that motor, and it had some sweet torque off the line. They tune even more power out of it when it goes into the camaros. My S10 could hold its own against V6 stangs and camaros, pretty cool for the work truck. Gay thing is, it had a 95mph speed govorner and a 100mph speedometer and no tach, that was bad times.

The type of the engine isn’t my point. I don't care if it's i4, v6, i6, v8, v10, v12, it's ALL about power. The V6 camaro is a Heavy car with a engine that's not super powerful. IF it had the V6 the 350z did it would be fast. Just having a v6 does not make a car fast, nor does having a v8, v10, etc. It's only about power/weight/traction. The 4.3 S10 isn’t bad, but it's not fast. It would run great against other trucks, and against v6 camros, but otherwise it's pretty weak. It's too heavy, and un-aerodynamic, and the gearing sucks. I've been into trucks longer than cars; I used to have a 97 KA Nissan truck.

A v6 Mustang runs about a 16.1, a v6 camaro runs just about what my car does, maybe a bit slower. I'm talking about 03 models; the older ones were a joke. V6 isnt bad, but when it’s in a Chassis that was made for a much more powerful v8 its not too good.

The V6 350z/g35 is around 280hp, the v6 camaro is 200hp, v6 mustang 190hp, seems like an 80hp difference to me. So what was your point about the 350z?

V6 Altima 5sp runs about the same as a v8 Mustang GT 5sp.

Just throwing out facts.. (What I feel are facts based of what I’ve seen, read, etc.)

mirror warmers? that sounds like a fat feature to me. 300zx is a cool car its just needs to lose some weight.

The only V6 in the F-Bodys were the 3400 & 3800. 3400 is a joke. 3800 is a heck of alot better. My buddy has a 97 sonoma 4.3 5 spd and he has kept up with a 4.6 mustang. Not beat. but kept up this is with CAI & hypertech programmer. If he had a LSD He prob would have beat its a beast off the line but i take him on top end.we have done a max of 112 in it.
