I can't remember ever seeing a camshaft that uses a bolt pattern like that. I knew I should have actually looked at my RB before commenting.
Like others said, the oil pressure does not force the cam seal out. They usually come out due to improper installation or a seal that is slightly small. They can then rotate and tear the head up a little, but you will also have oil leakage. The seal is a metal unit with rubber laminated to it. So the part that touches the cam is rubber, the part that touches the head is metal. It wouldn't have made as many shavings as you had though.
