The rack replacement isn't something I would hesitate to do myself, it just depends on your level of skills and tools. If you think you're up to it, have at.
Front has struts rear has shocks, the rubber dust boots aren't terribly important and do not come wiht new shocks so they may well have replaced the struts and or shocks and reused the old dust boots.

Hey apexbuddha, I was checking out the Calaveras Rd again recently. It's still closed, but I could get a few miles in before running into construction fencing (I just went around the orange barriers at the intersection). I've tried it from both sides now. So, that reminded me of this thread...

How's your car coming along?

Ha! Thanks for thinking of me! Yeah, it'll be closed for a while...le sigh.

The Z is doing well! I got a new stereo and speakers for my 40th and got that installed. Unfortunately, the shop to which I took it scratched the hell out of my center console. And now it all has to come back out because the light on my oil pressure gauge went out. LOL

Planning to replace the steering rack and tie rod ends during the winter. Really want to do the lower control arms, too, but at $300 a piece...it's going to have to wait.

Got one rocker cover gasket replaced, but need to take my time and do the other one because so flippin' much needs to come apart to get to it.
