I bought another 240 yesterday, for 1000 bucks, and i met a guy tonight that offered me his 90 Civic Si with a fresh JDM DOHC engine, (non-vtec) new racing clutch, short shifter, intake, headers, "weight reduction" some decent looking 15s, he might have said some other stuff. This guy LOVES drifing, so i tell him to jump in, cause we were gonna go drift some abandoned warehouse lot. The guy's just about ready to pee his pants he's so excited. I try to drift for a bit, and then i toss him the keys. He pulls some decent drifts his first try. We were all having the dopest time.

So im gonna swap this guy straight up, then sell his rice rocket for like 3-4 grand, and order me up a turbo motor.

His Civic Si, its a lot faster than either of my 240s, but its like a torque steering, wheel hoping shopping cart, no wonder he's so eager to trade me.

The funny thing is, after he drove my 240, we ran to his house for a bit in his Civic, he was trying to drive it after being in the 240. He stalled his own Civic 3 times. I'm not joking. This guy is a skilled driver, he autocrosses all the time, pulled nice drifts in my car, and stalls his own dang civic repeatedly, he was laughing more than i was.

I'm still keeping my grey one.

Good luck with the civic, but umm how did he get a 'fresh jdm dohc' engine w/o vtec? You'd think that a new dohc Si engine would have it...(or did he just get like a 90 JDM Si engine..)

What are you gonna do to it?

civics = gay.

if this guy is such an autocrossing champion i find it hard to believe

A) he would be driving a non-vtec civic B) he would stall it 3 times

The guy got the engine for a great price, so non-vtec is no biggie. I want to say its a Z22, but i know nothing about hondas but its a DOHC 1.6. He says its got at least 130 at front wheels of this shopping cart. I believe it, the car pulls really hard, once you get past like 2500. The car spoke to me and asked "What is low end torque?" heheh

What am i gonna do with it? You guys oughta know better than to ask me that, im gonna sell it as soon as i get it. Mo' Money for my grey 240sx.

It is a way nicer car in every way than my red 240, except for when your driving it, its still a front drive torque steering Honda.

He stalled it cause his clutch (it engages RIGHT off the floor), well the whole dang car really, is like totally oposite of my 240sx he was driving for half an hour. I even stalled his Civic, they have no torque. But from the looks of things, i could make some serious cash and help this guy out. He wants a 240 so bad, and i happen to have two of them :)

I dont know if he's an autocrossing champion or not, but he said he goes a lot. He took me for a crazy parkinglot ride in his Civic, he pulled almost 240sx g's, and an awesome 7-8k rpm launch. Its a cool car if you dont know anything about a 240sx. They came with stock Recaro seats, and holy crap they are nice. If i can im gonna steal them, put them in my 240sx, and if my stock seats will fit the civ, then great. Or its junkyard DX seat time.

Sounds like you did pretty well for yourself with this. BTW, the thing about stalling reminds me of learning to drive a manual transmission in my dad's ancient VW Golf.

The thing had so little torque that it would stall in the blink of an eye if you weren't giving it enough throttle. When I got my 240SX, driving was so much easier.

deftdrummer, i hope that comment about being meant to drive a Civic wasnt directed at me, cause what a horrible thing to say. I wont even be registering this car, or buying insurance, just reselling it to someone who still thinks there cool. I'm 240sx/Nissan right down to the bone, thats why i have two 240s right now. I didnt need a second one, i just bought it, i dont even know why i did it. But hopefully i can turn it into a nice civic and then into some swap cash.

He could always reconsider before tonight/tomorrow.

Im thinking about buying a CRX and making it faster and turn better than my SR powered 240sx for less money just to spite all the ***holes who think everything that isnt a 240sx sucks.

actually it seems most ricers (who disguise thmselves as drifters) think the 24o is the coolest and best car in teh world, guys like 99 percent of hte people on NICO, seem to have respect for all cars, and know that the 24o isnt the absolute best thing in the world

from what i hear, VTEC sucks for autocrossing, something about the sudden change in the power band that makes controling the car more difficult.

cars and clutches are different. stalling isnt so bad when you are getting used to a car. now, if he started grinding gears, then i would have to second guess his autocrossing experience.

I've never seen a drift car with a v-tec engine, well I forgot about the s2000 and nsx. I'm sooo tired of the front wheelers where I live trying to tell me thier drifting stories. I used to argue with them, but now I just smile and nod. I've built a civic, and I like honda, but like the hair on my balls, they're everywhere. Besides, the CRX has to be the ugliest of all the civics! Sounds like a great way to make some money though.:alcoholic

Hey Jspec I feel the same way. I personally dont care too much for Nissan as a community. Too much ****iness and stuck upness. I have torque..you dont type of ****. True a CRX may be a front wheel drive car, but PLEASE buy my 240 so I can buy a CRX. I will build it up and come back to wax the floor with all the dumb asses who hate Honda just because it isnt Nissan or because their lower cars are FWD or because it isnt a 240. To me the 240 is just another car. Nothingh special. Some people need to relax and get out more....
