i cant stand that the thread content only fills 65% of the screen, while the other 35% is filled with ads, links that could somehwhere else, or empty grey space! WTF!? dumbest s***!

I loved the old layout as well. It was different from the other millions of forums out there. Now it looks boring like all the other ones. I like the addition of PM, but this is going to take some getting used to.

I agree with the color scheme needing to change to a duller tone. I have been read about 20 minutes and the brightness of everything with no darks to tone them down is giving me a head ache.

I was going to make a thread about this in Gen Chat but I had to try and put my engine together lol

Ill be heading over there to state my thoughts though.

To each his own, but I like the new layout. I used to use the dark layout for NICO which was a lot easier on the eyes but like Becky and Greg have said, they're still working on things so I'm sure they'll bring it back.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of the new layout either and I barely post on here. I just look around a lot lol. How can you tell if the thread you are thinking about looking at has any pictures in it? The old layout had some sort of symbol next to the thread title or something to let you know if there were any pics in the thread. That is very usefull if you are searching for something like a diagram or what have you...

Kinda on the fence.
Def. gonna take some time getting used to.
I also agree that the colors are working, needs more contrast.

The new layout looks clean and sleek.

two things tho:
hoping they bring back color schemes
hoping they fix the search

yeaa,
the change is a no go for me right now.
i'm guessing it's because i'm used to where everything was before and how to do things before and now we have to adjust.
also, i don't like the fact that pics get cut off...

It seems like they are making quick progress on it, i guess we should give it some time and see what happens. I just hope some input is noted about the color scheme etc. I think it is something we'll have to adjust to but it can be done.

Did someone seriously complain about my sig in this thread?

Seems like replies are much quicker and PM's are a plus but still, the new layout isn't my cup of tea so far but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

some of you need to venture out of 240gen a little more often, lots of info on this has been stated over and over and the solutions to a lot of issues has already been posted. as for the others that say they will leave nico because of a layout change, good riddance. appearance doesn't make nico what it is, it's the content and the members that make this forum shine.

I am not much of a fan yet. It's just gonna take time. Only issue I have seen is on the comuter at school you can only see half of most pictires. On my mac at home it's not an issue due to it being a 24" screen but I see there being a simular problem on any standard screen.
When it comes down to it, I don't frequent NICO because of the way it looks, but for the great community here. I havent been able to find anything like it anywhere else...

If you're really going to leave just because they changed the layout then good riddance. This updated version of nico is faster and has better features then the old one. You know how much work has been put into this so that they could just switch everything over.

I am not here for the way the page looks. I am here for the people and information. I have tried lurking on zilvia it is just not my cup of tea. I about went nuts for the few days nico wasn't working at my office. I am with numbnuts if you are going to leave because of a layout get your s*** and get out. Think of all the work everyone has had to put into making this changeover work and be patient it will take a while to get it all hammered out.

I partially agree with numbnuts- I'm not going to dismiss NICO just because of a layout change, but right now, I'm less encouraged to post due to the differences. Perhaps that will change with more familiarity, but I felt the old NICO was very user friendly. Now I feel like a complete newb again.

Stuff is still getting sorted out during the change over time. We'll have everything back up and running in no time flat.

In the meantime, let's try to divert our traffic to General Chat. 240 Gen is where we talk about our favorite car of all time.

Greg has an informative post here, and Eikon has set up a thread concerning stuff that's borked here.

I'm gonna close this one down in an effort to consolidate concerns and information to the threads our admins are looking at.
