I considered a Sedan, but it would throw my budget off. I only paid $22k out the door for my coupe, so my payments are "reasonable". Buying a $27k car out the door and adding 2 more years to my loan term isn't really a great idea.
are you telling me you're not good enough to tell those jokers at the dealer that you need the car for "X" amount? c'mon, i know you can do it! we all have faith in you.

im sure there are some SoCal board members that will point you in the right direction

I'm looking at WRXs in the 16k range. Not looking forward to going back up to owing $22k. Get my drift?

Why? TDI is awesome. Turbo + biodiesel= Prius owner envy lol (+ a peppy little car). Still not digging VW though.

IF you are serious about that, you better look into getting an older TDI. One with the engine code of ALH. The best years for that conversion are the 95-early99 TDI's. The 5 speed cars get 50+ mpg hwy. I have customers that drive from Central VA to Miami on a tank of fuel.

The 99.5 to 03 TDI's can run it as well, but are heavier then the earlier ones, and don't get the mpg. They are in the high 40's hwy.

You CAN NOT run bio in the 04 up TDI's. The eletric fuel injectors do not take well to the bio. It does not lubricate them enough.

One thing you have to watch out for it algae build up in the tank, lines and injectors. Every few tanks of bio need to be followed by a tank of diesel.

Thanks for the info. I'd love to run my own biodiesel "plant", but no can do at the moment.

I'm surprised regarding the injectors not being lubed enough by the biodiesel. I was under the impression that the doughnut grease did a better job of lubricating than conventional diesel does...Shows you want I know lol.

I posted my the G for sale in the classifieds and on CL. I'm pretty sure I want a 2006 WRX as a replacement. Then the wife can have it after I change jobs/sell her car (we never take the Celica as a family because it doesn't fit us together and you can't talk on the highway because of the road noise. Great car, just would be better for somebody else AND with some sound deadening.
