After all the crap I've been through and nearly two years later, the motor finally runs the way it was meant to. No ticking or clacking in the valve train. No leaky head gaskets.

With all these internal modifications, I need a serious tune!

yay, 1st to reply

and may I be the first to say "VICTORY" haha.

Feel like the guys in 300 when they are all cheering when the ships are crashing against the rocks.

Sounds good man, going through your journey as well so its pretty motivating right now.

Lets see some video footage.

There is nothing as wonderful as the first time you back your car out of the garage after a long project.

Good luck man! Glad to hear it came out well.

Yeah, and I got to ride in it!

Smooth as glass. Drives like a stock Skyline.

You should post some pics so people can actually see how clean your car is.

Thanks for the congrats guys! I took some before and after detailing pics and my before pics turned out better because the car was outside in the sun and looks shinier. Busted out the clay bar, cleaner wax, polish, glaze, and wax. My shoulders thank me for buying an orbital buffer. I'll post the pics up this afternoon since work is slow today and nobody is hounding me to get stuff done.

I got to go up against cdorhout's GT3076 on the freeway and he blew me away. I might as well have been in my civic because it wouldn't have been as embarassing

hahaha yeah when all of my money and time goes into the engine, there's none left for suspension mods. I kinda like running around stock with the sidemount in there. Makes for the ultimate sleeper look.

The main reason it took me so long was because I wasn't originally planning on building it. I just wanted to change the head gasket and the second I pulled the head was when all of my problems started happening. So most of the time was spent pulling it apart, putting it together, pulling the head, waiting for the machine shop (20x) and putting it together again. I also had a weird ECU electrical gremlin in there that delayed my startup about two months. Now, it wouldn't take me more than a month to do a swap including an entire build.

Sad part about your story is that its exactly like mine...(besides the ecu problem since I tested it out :] )

But glad to see it running since it tells us there is light beyond that tunnel.

Funny part though when ever I talk about something wrong with the swap I always say, "well its not that bad, poor darius he's got it bad"

Lol

Doesnt it feel good after a long long build? Hell it even feels like all that time you spent could take you a couple weeks if it were to happen again. Good ****! I have that feeling now but mine isnt fully running however it does drive up and down the street slowly lol.

I hear ya on the bigger turbo. I'm already maxing out my injectors with the base map, so I need to get the thing tuned before I even think about going crazy with it.

Um yeah. Scratch that. I'm going to the drag strip tonight to get a couple of runs in to set a baseline before I tune it. I'll post up my time slips on Saturday.

I hear ya. I've got all-seasons on there right now so it should be a pretty mild launch so I don't have to feather the gas as much.

Here are some pics before and after my detailing job. I still think I need to do a more thorough job of cutting the clearcoat because there are a lot of spots that have swirl marks. It looks great from a distance of 5 ft though. Can't beat the standard orange peel look of the Nissan paint jobs.

man get rid of the hood spacer thing.. that "free mod" is way overrated and such an s13 fanboy thing IMO... also not cool for such a clean/stock looking car.

good luck @ the track. curious to know your mph

Tell me about it. That's all my hick co-workers ask about, "why does the hood stick up? did you get the hood shut yet?" They don't notice that the damn thing sounds like a viper.

I can't shut the hood because my BOV flange sticks into the webbing. I need to remount my engine mounts to get it to sit lower in the bay. It's just going to have to wait until I get the Greddy manifold on there. Right now I just want to drive the thing. Been in the garage wayyy too long.

oh, haha thats legit then. i thought you were doing it for the "cooling effects". if so, leave that to the fanboys.

while the shimmed hood does indeed work as a cooling mod, it looks effin terrible on s14's.

I only made it about 60ft down the track...broke the rear driveshaft yolk The only time I got out of it was a 60-ft time of 2.5 seconds. hahaha ahh $hit. Nothing phases me anymore. Gonna get a new, more universal driveshaft made up.
