so i took my sr20 powered s13 into the garage and replaced the spark plugs and timing chain guide. si when i replaced the CAS, i put it in and timed the car and all...i'm driving it home, runs great, and it kinda bogs out and acts like it has no power...so i go to downshift and the car just shuts off, at sixty miles an hour, and won't turn back on.

battery is getting power thru fine, all lights/fan/whatever works fine, but the starter just clicks. doesn't turn over or anything

could i have spun a rod bearing or something? what is the deal....

Just cause the lights, fans, etc. are working doesnt mean the battery isn't the problem. Check the battery with a voltmeter, it sounds to me like it needs replacing.

If your car spun a bearing you would know it!!

Check all your battery, starter, and alternator connections. Also check your fuses.

that would be the alternator... the car would keep running if the battery died.. check your fuses.. and you replaced the CAS.. check that becouse it worked before you did that

so the motor won't turn over. at all.

like a can't turn the crank by hand. fail

so i think it's obviously not an electrical problem....

if you could turn the crank by hand you would be superman... did you take the spark plugs out when you tried this???... did you check all your fuses??

i think he meant using a breaker bar on the bolt for the crank pully to rotate the motor manually while its in neutral.

If thats the case and it won't turn then the engine may be seized. was it knocking real bad or the oil light on?

yes i meant breaker bar on crank pulley

no oil light came on, it had fresh oil in it, like i put oil and oil filter on it right before i drove it, no oil leaks anywhere, and it was running strong with no knock...i'm completely baffled...i'm going to tear the oil pan off tonight and take a look at the crank and i'll post what i find, if aything..probably pieces of a bearing...

this is sucks.

Check the timing chain, maybe the shop installed the tensioner wrong and the chain got jammed somewhere. Whatever it is sounds like something got messed up. that sucks

your sure the car was in neutral when you tried to turn it?
