yes. its very important to do so. that way you will know if your rotor is in or out of spec and it will have a nice flat mating surface. some local auto parts store resurface them like kragen/pep boys. should be like 10 dollars a pop

most tolerances are so tight that you may as well buy new ones. Resurfacing rotors is becoming a thing of the past.

Or you can go the cheap route, get some good emery cloth and just scuff they hell out of the rotors, and bed the pads in really good.

I rarely turn rotors. I usually just replace them. But yes, you should start with a clean surface.

YMMV

Truth be spoken, taking material off increases the chances of warpage.

This does work, as long as the rotors aren't already warpped.

Brake rotors are cheap, just buy new ones.

Truth be told, rotors don't warp. They get uneven friction pad material build up on them.

Hahahahahah

Try telling that to the 35 year old women who wants to know why her steering wheel shakes when she pushes the brakes. Trying to tell her she has excessive lateral run out do to friction material deposits is like trying to tell her, that her flux capacitor is failing.

Rotors do warp though, try dropping one on concrete, then installing it. Have fun with a shaking steering wheel.

No way, nope, now way. I don't envy you at all having to deal with the GP. Been there done that, no thanks.

HAHAHA, thats funny. I had a bench tech put something about a flux capacitor in a work order one time. Good times Good times.
