Anybody?

Haha, that's a good question. It's stock. I'm guessing 16's? I'm just looking at quotes right now. First narrowing down on brand, then price, while keeping all-season performance in mind.

Well, to give you some perspective, I think it cost me just shy of $600 for my all-season Falkens when I put them on the Max 2 years ago.

And the Hankook (budget brand) snow tires I put on the Q in October cost me just over $400 mounted and balanced.

15'' tires in both cases.

Look into Federal tires. I've run them on the Max more than once and been happy. They're nothing special but they're not bad, either. They're cheap in price but not in quality. I'm guessing you're not looking for anything fancy if you're shooting for the $350 price range.

I expect to pay about $300 in the spring for (just two) GOOD 255-45-17s.

Ultra-high-performance (UHP) are super-sticky, super-soft tires. Treadlife is generally very short (I got 20,000 miles out of my Falkens).Grand Touring tires are still performance oriented but with some concessions to achieve longer treadlife.

At least, I think that's what the difference is.

You want to avoid UHP if you're looking for value. UHP are pricey AND short-lived for the most part. General does make the Exclaim which is cheap for a UHP tire. Treadlife is supposedly not TOO horrible.

Yeah I definately don't want anything fancy. Just good treadwear and something I can rely on. Federal? I'll look into them.

I spotted Fuzion. Yay? Nay?

Fuzion is a Bridgestone brand. From what I've heard they're not bad tires. I don't know anyone personally who has run them, though.

For what it's worth, even though my hankooks were cheap, I LOVE them. They're absolutely incredible in the wet. They seem to be wearing nicely, too, though I only have about 7,000 miles on them so far.

Yeah, 11-7, so I'm out of here in an hour. Out for the weekend. Which is a NICE surprise because for some reason yesterday I was thinking it was only wednesday. Unexpected weekend FTMFW.

So, I'm going to sell the 240.. as much of a pita as it was to obtain.

I am going to do some fixing up to it before I sell it, though.. probably put it up for somewhere around 3600 or so, I can probably get some little fanboi to buy it for dreeufting.

You going to ask out bank girl? C'mon, you know you wanna!

Dee!

So I've narrowed my choices. 1st General Altimax HP(Grand Touring tires-$85each), 2nd Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum(GT-$95ea), 3rd Goodyear Eagle Response Edge(GT-$110ea).

So far though, I've only looked at Tire Racks website. Any other sites? I wanna take a look at Falkens, and Toyo. Besides, Tire Rack doesn't have regular performance tires I like. Same with Regular touring.

I have the altimax right now. They're pretty good. I actually preffered the UHP series that General had, but the altimaxes are a nice second.

I gotsa.. the VA denied my disability claim, so, I have to get some sort of money until I can find a job. I am going to appeal the VA's claim, but I don't know when/if anything will come of it. After cruising around NICO and looking at the other '97 Koukis, I am probably going to sell it for 4500, since the going price is 6500 for a Kouki in a little better disrepair than mine.

It's a price you have to pay for working for the government.

i was going to say that you could get more than that first price you were thinking of. i'd list it for 5200 and let them talk you down, but i wouldn't go any lower than 4500

I think I'll list it for ~5000 and then negotiate after that but won't go any lower than 4500. I hate to see her go..

C'est la vie!
