LOL You might have a circuit loose somewhere I think...CRyan wrote:what the hell is a electrical leak? something that still runs after ignition is in off position?
Figured I asked seeing as i've been denoted a nick name
OHI thought your nickname was "electrical leak" (re-read my previous response) LOL!CRyan wrote:as in where - battery gets no charge
and before i go about taking off the alternator i want to check all plausible issues.

I'm not trying to be a d!ck or anything I'm just asking a question! besides I don't think 5Zigen would sell you the wheels with no holes!you would be better off having them custom-made.Otto MCR wrote:cant i ask a single question without being criticized?
Haha - i got ya now - but on the serious note of getting the dos cuatro. . .0. . .running - it has no charge - as in - negative cable wasn't fully connected the first day i got it off stands and when it came off it studdered the car and the connected, you know the effect. Anyway - re connected it and now it is getting no charge (besides with battery charger).Dattebayo wrote:

Anyway, your battery has no charge or it gets no charge? It sounds like you don't know what you are talking about. If it gets no charge, then it's obviously your alternator (duh ) sans maybe the wires are all busted (obvious to notice)
If it has no charge, then its probably your alternator or maybe you just have an old battery. Either way, you have to buy a battery followed by most likely a alternator. Good job, BTW...

Change the negative cable all the way from the starter motor back to the chassis ground and then to the battery post and get a new lug for it. Then you can try a jump start and see whats really going on.CRyan wrote:negative cable wasn't fully connected the first day i got it off stands and when it came off it studdered the car and the connected, you know the effect. Could alternator not be charging because of bad positive post connection - i noticed it was a bit loose, but enough to start the car. . .
that would be "I really tore her a bigger one"...SEV6 wrote:Ever heard of short chicks?
I will take blame - i didn't inform ya with enough info - the car had been doing it since before i began work on the car - before the cables were off and going down the road. . .Dattebayo wrote:

Just a thought-Maybe when the negative cable came loose, it touched the positive side and arced...
Yeah but couldn't the size of the hole actually determine the type of hole?Dattebayo wrote:

Just so you know, 7 holes is the limit, beyond that it's anyone's guess...SEV6 wrote:Yeah but couldn't the size of the hole actually determine the type of hole?
SO like I said...CRyan wrote:the car had been doing it since before i began work on the car - before the cables were off and going down the road. . .
Replace the cable first, smart guy. Don't skip steps! You're the one who said the cable was faulty, do it right! For once don't follow the standard 240 cheap-*** method and get it all done the way you would expect a professional to do it!CRyan wrote:new battery though. . .i figured out how to beat the system.
Go to junkyards and grab an old battery - pay 10, make sure 3 year warranty isn't out and go get another from wal mart for free
