Does this involve destroying a barn?
That depends on whether I can get a local farm to buy the barn board. The wide boards can go for a lot.

It could though. I also need to convince my significant other. I'd love to rebuild it, but the quotes I have gotten are astronomical

I want a barn. If I can afford it, I'll see if I can buy an old farm when I get the chance.

Dunno what kind of shape it is, but have you considered salvaging everything you can, then rebuilding it a bit smaller with the remaining materials?

An old fashioned barn raising is cheaper than a professional, but I'm not sure how that would go up north.

I'm disappointed. I always buy W. L. Weller from this one liquor store. For the first time, they didn't have any.

Ended up with a tenth of Old Forester. Review will follow as sobriety leaves.

Initial impression of Old Forester:

It sucks. Not as bad as W. L. Weller Antique (yellow label), but definitely not as good as Weller white label.

The taste isn't as harsh as Evan Williams, but not as smooth as Weller. Flavor is OK.

The real problem is the aftertaste. It's similar to the heartburn you get after eating mexican food, greasy pizza, italian, and polish food all in 4 hours, then go for a run... quite unpleasant.

I'm just glad I didn't buy a whole fifth of this stuff.

Not really... its a little more lax in here, but you still can't just post up a bunch of hardcore ****.

That only flies in the mod forum.

Yeah, sounds pretty awful... like you might need a chaser with it... and that is just not right.

Awful was the W. L. Weller Antique. I can not, in all good conscience, recommend it to anyone. I gave the rest of my fifth to a friend with a stern warning. She consumed it, but only after being drunk on something else first.

A chaser couldn't hurt, but I'm a firm believer in practice what you preach. Therefore, I will continue to sip it and drink water. With any luck, the 3 or 4 shots it takes to get me to feeling it will go down quickly.
