making babies, knocking boots, answering booty calls, doing the nasty, bumping uglies, etc.

i'm finally back, don't have the time to hang with the day-time slackers anymore.

Prostate cancer FTL

My holiday has been bittersweet so far. On one hand I found out that my mother does not have breast cancer. There had been several biopsies over the past month and they came back negative

However today I just lost my 63 year old uncle to prostate cancer. He fought hard, and it ended up spreading to his bones and later to his brain. This all happened within a matter of 2 years. For me that makes 4 uncles that have come down with prostate cancer. The others have gotten in under the age of 40, and thankfully currently they have no signs of it coming back, but they are not out of the woods yet. I've since been tested for the past 3 years myself. scary stuff

Thanks for the kind thoughts Tito. He was on all kinds of drugs, thorazine, hadol, you name it. He was still screaming in pain. Bone cancer hurts the most due to the fact that the cancer cells grow inside the bones, making them expand.

but to be on all those meds and it still didn't matter, I wish he didn't have to suffer so long

I carry 2 fortunes (from the cookies) in my wallet.first says "the only thing constant is change"the other " many a false step is made by standing still"

lifes too short. My oldest son just turned 10 and my youngest will be 7 shortly.

april 22 will mark the 2 year anniversary since we lost my sister. she was 3 years older than me. she went due to kidney failure that was caused by nephrotic syndrome. a full month before her 25th b-day. it was so devastating, but the one thing i learned from it all is that life is short and the only thing you can do about it is enjoy each and every day you are granted as you feel necessary.

Actually, change can't be the only constant. It's not constant. Impending doom is the only constant. And since impending doom is always impending, never takes breaks, never changes, change isn't constant. Impending doom > all. *raises glass* To the apocalypse!

I actually really like both of those, though. I'm a "progress, progress, progress" kind of person. Which means I'm pretty disappointed with the world right now.

your doomy outlook on life is morbidly awesome lol.

it's k, you never really get over it, you just learn to cope with it. my parents care for her daughter who just turned 4 the day after x-mas. she looks exactly like my sister. i mean identical twin-like, clone-like. it's weird, but kind of comforting at the same time.

Wow i'm sorry you've had such a hard holiday. I'm glad to hear you and your mother are ok though.

Tito: Sad thing about your sister, i'm sorry... it must be nice though to remember her every time you see your niece. she's so pretty btw!

Mornin'! Such adepressing day in here. Death talk and all. I can't really add or relate aside from friends who managed to off themselves and the eventual death of my gay uncle with AIDS.

I've never been to a funeral. I'll count myself lucky.

I've also never been to a wedding.
